This may not be the right area for this, but I didn't see a feedback section:
One of the biggest annoyances with Mass Effect 2 right now for me is that if you do not load in saved characters from Mass Effect 1 you're stuck with what seems to be a random set of negative choices. (I havented tested this with multiple characters yet to see if Wrex dies, the council is gone, and Ashley stays dead but I'm pretty sure it is a constant.)
What I would personally like to see done is the question section, (right after you leave the tutorial space station), being more about deciding what happened in the last game to you.. instead of having them ask you why you took these actions why not ask newly created characters who was saved, who died, and what happened to the council to test their memory instead?
This is simply my humble opinion, but i think it would be a nice practice for those who had deleted ME1 from their systems and were not expecting this pleasant surprise. As thrilled as I am to see that saved data is being carried over in games once again -- which I truly am -- it would be nice to not have to do a blitz run through ME1 to get a different story out of the game!
Thank you for your time.

Or you can just import - incentive to play the first. ME3 may do the same thing to encourage people to experience the story.

I have to agree with RWARP. I’m so angry that I lost of my MaleShepard. I romanced Liara, saved Kaidan and kept Wrex alive. I ‘m so flustered by the fact that the story is just “as is”. Which has very renegade choices btw, WTH
is up with that?
It seems they didn't think about those people who wouldn't like to play ME hundreds of times to just get multiple scenarios. I'm sick of ME1 (I played it so much and I don’t want to redo it because I lost my data.)
I'm completely surprised they didn’t have some sort of options to customize your experience. I mean not a full detailed customized wizard to even remember your quest data, but, at least KEY moments in the game. Wrex, Council, Virmire, LI that’s it!
I mean the benefits of importing your character are not all that impressive to me. I mean yeah, that nostalgic feeling of “oh wow they rememberme” is nice but not as significant as your key choices you’ve made.
Also people are happy about the “bonuses” you get from import data like minerals and such didn’t impress me. I don’t need free minerals. I’m happy mining them. I would’ve liked if they gave us more choices to customize our story even if we don’t have an “OMG, I’m 60,all quest, everything maxed out” save file. I’m on the 360 so borrowing someone else’s file is not an option for me. Wish it was. I’m tired of redoing everything in ME1.

I do wish you could choose some events of the first game when making a ME2 new character, particularly with Wrex's status and Who you saved on Virmire (I think it defaults to Kaiden for Females and Ashley for Males). I am curious as to what Wrex's default status is but I don't really have the urge to get that far in the game with a default character to find out, hopefully he's alive by default, I'd be rather pissed to play for 10 or so hours to find out Ashley shot him in the back 2 years ago.

*POSSIBLE SPOILER*
Pretty sure hes dead by default. At least on a female role he is. When you ask the illicit man about your former team Wrex doesn't pop up as a choice
