How long before you had to switch over to Disc 2?
For me it was about 13 hours in when I was randomly just scanning a planet and I happen to come across a beacon. When I located some minerals and launched a probe, it just happened to be the exact same place the mission beacon was. It automatically started loading up the mission and then asked me to put in Disc 2. I've been on disc 2 since. Is it just me or does that make Disc 1 seem really short and a 2 disc system almost unneccessary?

I guess that's just the time for the switch. I was kind of expecting more, although there was still plenty I could have done.
