Miranda and Jack conflict

So here's my dilemna. I already completed Miranda's Loyalty campaign. So she was loyal. I'm in the process of just knocking out all the loyalty missions (I haven't recruited Tali but finished Samara and Thane's loyalty missions already and I have the IFF mish pended). Still have Grunt and Mordin's loyalty missions to knock out.
Well. I completed Jack's loyalty mission last night and when you got back to the cabin Miranda and Jack were fighting. I only had two dialogue options of the four available (I assume it's because I don't have enough paragon/renegade to unlock the other two). I have 3 bars paragon and <1 bar renegade (pesky auto renegade points).
I can make two choices. Tell Jack to back off or tell Miranda to back off. If I tell Miranda to back off she drops from Loyal to Normal and then refuses to talk to me. If I tell Jack to back off she drops from Loyal to Normal and then refuses to talk to me.
So my question is... am I screwed on Miranda's loyalty? I decided to go with telling Miranda to back off (because her arguement was the most baseless of the two). I also went with Miranda because she seems to easiest to persuade back (and she really doesn't have a choice but to be on this mission and see things through). Do I need a full paragon bar to be able to tell Miranda to "Be the bigger woman" (which is the greyed out Paragon choice) and will that make her loyal to me again? Is there a way to recover loyalty in the game? I already botched Zaeed's loyalty by choosing to save the miners... i'd rather not make another botched mistake.
On my second playthrough it looks like I'm going to unlock the loyalty missions for Miranda and Jack first. Do Jack's first (to ****** off Miranda) and then go do Miranda's loyalty quest to hopefully right size the loyalty status. This is just a theory though :/
If I had known it would force a choice I would have planned differently and waited until I had full paragon/renegade for Jack.
Advice?

I found that I had enough Paragon by the time I got to this juncture, so it wasn't an issue for me. Having a pure Paragon import helps.

I just wasn't happy with the fact that this "loyalty" line happened so early in the game (I could have done Jack's loyalty mission before Horizon), but it automatically required you to have more paragon than you can reasonably have accumulated so far :/
I never played the ME1. I already bought it though for after I finish this one (I know, I know) but heh. I might make my second playthrough of ME2 my soon to be ME1 port.
I guess it made people who ported ME1 have some easier conversations points

I don't care if Miranda is stuck in a pouty mood as long as she is loyal

I still got my entire team out alive.
I don't really think you need everyone to be loyal to get "No One Left Behind."

Well, if that's not affecting loyalty, why the concern? Just be honest.grayjedi00 wrote...
I'm having a similar issue with this. I'm playing through with an imported male shepard lvl 60 and pure paragon, and I'm trying to romance miranda (successful), I got to the biotic cat fight and I apparently had enough paragon points to calm the fight. However, after the fight when I went to go talk to Jack, and she was pissed at me for being in a relationship with Miranda (like she was jealous), so did I accidently romance Jack at the same time? I wasn't interested in a romance with her; I just wanted to be friends!!!! What do I do???? Help!!!!!!
Anyway, Miranda was off base, any way you slice it. She was wrong in the initial dispute and wrong for losing loyalty because she was called out for being like Jack's personal Holocaust denier. Meh. I had the Charm option, so all was well.

No way to get around that fight.
I just want to know how much paragon it takes to get that other choice.

No such luck with that, I did jack first, then miranda. the fight is set up to occur when you get back from whichever loyalty mission you do second. So if you don't have enough paragon/rengade for the extra choices, yer gonna lose the loyalty of one of them.

This is right. I did Jack's loyalty mission first as well but got the conflict after Miranda's. And just for the record something I totaly missed my first play is if you put points into your static skill set like for a Vanguard his Assult Mastery will up the Paragon and Renegade points you have and get. You will need this maxed to get some of the hardest blue or red choices in the game.

I know, and it still says that Jack is loyal, so that gave me some relief. But my question is, does she act like this no matter what, or did I screw up somewhere and accidently gave her the wrong impression at some point. I was trying really hard NOT to initiate any sort of romance with her, that's my concern.

I had to side with Miranda. It was stupid of Jack in my opinion to go up there and ask for an apology.

I managed to split up the fight on my first play through, but couldn't do it on my second (and I swear I had less paragon the first time).

Seriously, Jack just wanted Miranda to admit that Cerberus was wrong and Miranda was still thick-headed at that time to admit that. (Though I like to think by the end of the game Miranda changes her opinion). At the moment of this little squabble Jack was more in the right, though her approach was a bit juvenile, but she grows up a bit more later.
