When I click play I get an 'mass effect 2 encountered an error'  message.

Yes I meet the minimum and recommended specs. (core 2 duo 2.4, ati 4870, 3GB RAM)

Yes I have updated all redists and drivers known to man.

Please help.

I'm sooooo sick of having to spend so much of my precious free time chasing stuff like this on forums. Maybe if Bioware admitted the possibility that sometimes their games don't work then I wouldn't have to. But there is NO mention of any problems on their 'support' page.

Pity, I've been a huge Bioware fan since BG1......

Found the issue!



I installed the game to a non default location from the DVD. Re-installed using 'Express install' to the default location and all is fine.
