Any tips on how to make character good-looking enough to not thinking about restart every time I see him in cutscenes?

Change the skin colour to either tan or white.
Change the eyebrows to thin instead of plucked.
Move the chin up, and make the jaw and chin a bit wider.
Change the mouth so the lips are smaller, and make the mouth less wide.
Change the hair etc to your preference.

Wow! That is nice work Sabresandiego!Sabresandiego wrote...
My character is very handsome and it only took me 5 minutes to make him. Might be easier to make good looking bald characters since you dont have to deal with a hairline.

Make a general concept. Go into the Character Creator program and experiment with what kind of colour combinations you might want to use. See if you like the look of certain races. General pointers for good conceptual work are gender, race, hair colour, skin colour, skin complexion and tattoos. Contrasting skin and hair colour tend to work well, but the other way around, matching skin and hair colour also gives interesting pictures. Generally, starting with hairstyle isn't the best way to go, since you might be dissatisfied with the effect if has in the end.
Save any interesting concepts you might have had under categorized names like Cont(rast)A, Age51, etc.
Next, go to the presets of the race and gender you have chosen. Set the skin and hair colour up, so that you can see what you are making. If you are making something for the community, it might be wise if you set your PC or TV screen settings to the default, so that the people who will see it have moderately the same look at it you have.
Next, tune the hair style down to relatively short so you have a good look at what you're making here. It's very annoying to discover that the settings you've made work on one face, but not on another with a different hairstyle. Using a bald or short hairstyle gives you less risk.
Next, experiment with the presets you have. What I like to do is create premade models for each race-gender combination, in such a way that I can start designing right away. So, bald. Not pale, slightly tanned, but not black either. Generally, having a standard tattoo applied to each premade model gives you a good feel for that certain changes do to a model. Rigid-lined tattoos are good for this.
Compare the premade-preset models. Pick the one you like best that fits the best with your first concept, and start experimenting.
I might continue later on.

I don't know if it's only my lack of skill or my perfectionism , but I can't make any dacent-looking human males. Heck, I could even make quite good-looking elf males, but all of my humans end up looking like a balding chimpanzees. Sometimes, when they seem to look alright in Character creator, they just don't look good at all In game.
Any tips on how to make character good-looking enough to not thinking about restart every time I see him in cutscenes?
I suggest if you can, use the toolset, you have better access to editing opinons, and especailyl in making new structures of the face, so you can custom is even further in the character creation. I think the good way to make a face is start by making its structure first. In the character creation you can't do that. the toolset allows more flexiblity in face design. Though sadly I understand what you mean, the default faces for the character creator is not that impressive. So of course it be hard to make a decent face. Especially if theres a certain preference/feature you want to see more in your face. For example I like boyishly looking faces on guys. But the default for the males seem to be more kinda squared jaw/chin mucho older lookin faces. Elves have more of a boyish face. But of course the toolset gives you that option to change that if you want to. Though thats just my opinon
PS-- this option I said for the toolset is only for, if you have a PC and you computer can handle it, if not..... well then I say good luck with what you can experiment with, with the Character Creator

Ohh I see you got some Alistair bone structure there, nice, despite Alistair boyish attuide, I have to amit he has some good bone structure, that makes the girls go..... well nvm, you get what I mean. If you did that just using the character creator, I say I be impressed, Nicely done man. Like the jawline

A new idea has occurred to me. I made a successful Human Female, & how I did it was to turn the Face 90 degrees to the side, (So they look like they're looking to your Right.) & look through the Presets, paying attention to the Mouth. Look for the Mouth with the least amount of 'Chimp Mouth' & use that Preset. Go from there & see what ya can do.
Hope I helped.
lol I like to give my characters a slight overbite, it gives them a kinda animeish look, which I think looks good in 3D to me

Yeah the Elvish males to me seem the most easy to customize, the others seem to have a default facial feature thats hard to change. Human males with their square chin jaws, and dwarf...... well their..... I like a good challenge lol, but yeah

Yup, male dwarves, same thing. Look for Presets that have as little Chimp Mouth as possible. Although Chimp Mouth in small amount is ok on Male Dwarves, since it's plausible for the Dwarf to have some inner hearty eater without getting outta shape.NoAngel89 wrote...
