Personally, I think decent-looking human males are the easiest... much easier than elves (though that may be mostly because the clipping in the hair and ears on elves drives me nuts).

Elf Hair clipping is an easy fix, go bald! :P

Edit: Now that I think of it, a bald male elf in Massive Armor might be an interesting sight! :D

You need to use the toolset. Don't bother with the character creation screen. It's better to do it from the toolset and make your creation a preset to use on the character screen. The toolset is very tricky at first but once you get it down, it's very powerful. The problem with the in-game character generator is that it is very limited...But most importantly it never looks as it does when you actually reach the game because of the dark background. This is why when Bioware released the "character generator" before the release of Dragon Age, nearly 90% of the people were disappointed to see that the character they created never looked the way it should have. But in the toolset, what you see is what you get. And you have much more options to explore.

well the lighting in the toolset is alittle shadey, but if you know how to use the toolset, you can fix that, but it mountains better then the creator character, I just wished there be better lighting in the character creator. I should ask this on the awakening discussion.

I've heard unconfirmed Intel that the CC lighting for the person is inaccurate to real-game detail, but the 'Portrait' lighting is supposedly in-game accurate. I can't personally vouch for this.

omg exactly, I hate how the ears are, you can't have some of the you like, because of the confliction between them, it was made this way, to the ears wouldn't go through the helmets, if the ears were sticked out more, it would avoid that confliction, oh well
