Well  i've  played  through  mass  effect  2  and  i  absolutely  enjoyed  the  experience.  However  there's  one  thing  that  ticked  me  off.  I  prepared  for  the  suicide  mission  like  the  paranoid  schizophrenic  i  am  and  Mordin  died,  seemingly  for  no  apparent  reason.  I  used  Legion  for  the  vents,  jacob  for  the  second  squad  leader  both  times,  jack  for  the  shield  and  grunt  for  the  escort.  Now  even  past  Grunt  everything  was  fine,  and  apparently  all  of  them  made  it  through  including  Mordin.  But  then  in  the  final  cutscene  when  everyone  is  running  for  their  lives  it  cuts  off  to  a  scene  of  Mordin  just  dead  lying  on  the  ground.  Now  I'm  wondering  what  the  hell  happened,  and  how  i  can  correct  this  on  my  second  playthrough.  Any  suggestions?

Don't put jacob in charge. Use garrus or miranda, both have experience leading operations.

This happened to me on my first suicide-run: I selected Grunt as the escort for Dr. Chakwas. Try placing Mordin as the escort so that he may return to the Normandy safely without having to hold the door with the rest of the team. This was my run configuration:
Main Team: Shepard, Garrus, Thane
Alternate Team Leader: Miranda (both times)
Tech Specialist: Tali
Biotic: Samara
Escort: Mordin

Thanks! It still seems strange to me though i was sure i fitted each task to said persons strengths.
