Same here. Very annoyed if it counts in ME3. Why cant they rather have it fish out the details like loyalty from the save game import to be?



Lets hope someone starts a database of ME2 saves with all achievements for paragon/renegade avatars...

I just had an odd crash and all of my achievments disappeared, you wouldnt think this would matter due to the fact i could get most of them back, but how can i re-recruit archangel, mordrin and all the others? My saves remain, which is at least something.

this angers me to beat hell. what the hell is wrong with bioware? is this going to affect kasumi's loyalty achievement? (possible new achievement anyway) I'm willing to restart everything but I'm sure as HELL not going to scrounge the planets for all those minerals again. I have a level 50 import char from me1.

Lucky me I was able to restore my prf file using the method TeddyBearMan suggested, i'm good now.

It also happened to me just now, though I don't know what happened but my comp just shut down twice and when I gone to safe mode and restart it, my achievements are erased also Cerberus doesn't recognize me

Just got it fix thanks to Teddy, luckily mine is 2 hrs old so all my achievements is still there.....THANK GOD!!!!!

Why hasn't Bioware said anything yet? If I now restore my backup from like 2 months ago, my level drops, I loss missions etc...?

This happened to me right before the final mission. Now none of my characters have "loyalty", since that is read from the achievements. So everyone is going to die.

This wasn't an issue in ME1, why is this happening now?

So I took Tali, finished the Suicide Mission and then had to reformat my Harddrive.

Achievements asre gone, but I didn't mind. Now I did the Shadow Broker and Liara tells me I'm Single wtf? Tali says the same as before the mission, (whether I still want to do it or not,) even though I can still invite her to my room.

Unfortunately, my computer had been acting up, so instead of thinking it was Mass Effect, I bit the bullet and reinstalled Win7. It was needed and I'm happy about it, but I lost most of my achievements.



I have a different problem though: I can no longer save a new game. Only overwrite an existing one. Do you guys know what to do? Very annoying to keep going like this thinking that I won't be able to save correctly.



It certainly ruins the fun of the game. Don't see myself doing a second play through unless I get the save games back.... I'll keep searching the forums in case someone posted a solution...

Happened to me too...I dont really care about achievements, (though I will miss the loyalty powers at creation)

-But I also lost one of my ship upgrades (the extra probes),
and Monrith is on a very low level, like only 1 point assigned to 3 powers (iam not sure if thats intentional). Perhaps other problems.
-Lost 'Barrier' (Jacobs) extra power

I still have loyalty at least. Hope nothing else is corrupted and I can import to ME3...so annoying...

Ok No-one cares but I just wanted to update and say that after I completed Thanes loyalty mission, I got back my planet probes upgrade magically. Monrith is still weak as hell.

Tanks Bioware to make me lost 4 achivments from loyal members, I buy original games, to play right, and this happen thanks alot, more 38 hours game play to the trash!

Sorry for opening up this old thread but Im playing Arrival now before ME3 and the same thing has happened to me. Any word from Bioware if this will affect my character in ME3?

Feels a bit akward that you have to backup your saves and profile data in different versions after
each session.

Given that ME1 achievements didnt really do anything for ME2 except for some extra cash at start, at most the same thing will happen in ME3.

Make sure you have installed, and run all 3 game related executables in XP compatability mode, and as admin.
Note: Achievements tend to get "lost" after a crash. If your system is crashing, then you should resolve that issue, and the lost achievements issue will resolve itself.

Assuming ME3 is importing achievements and choices from ME2 then yes it will have an effect. As this bug was never fixed your only option is backing up the saves and the player1.prf file. Once you complete the game and have all the achievements you want just store that file in a safe place. Then copy it back to the proper directory right before you install ME3.

The DLC Arrival seams to crash in two places (for me anyway).

1. Right after your done with the fight protecting the DOC when shes hacking security station. Save before walking to the elevator platform.

2. Once on the station right before you enter the first elevator to go down to see object roe. Save again.
