I keep seeing people talking about being able to buy all upgrades in ME2 how are you people getting enough credits, seriously the issues with limited money and fuel means you can't explore everywhere to find all the missions. Any help would be hugely appicated.

Cheaters. The only way to get near the money you need for all the upgrades is to do everything and by then you don't need them.

Why developers didn't create a resource market, where player can sell discovered minerals from planet? (((

I ended up with around half a mil in surplus... opened and hacked everything I could, too. All quests. Mind you, I bought only about a quarter or a third of all weapon upgrades.

I think I spent too much on probes and gas exploring all the universe. I have full exploration and missions completed, but still do not have enough money for the two upgrades to speed up hacking/bypass and two AR weapon upgrades.

Shame on me for wanting to explore... I want a way to earn additional credit and xp though ~_~

It's the problem of finding missions via scanning you know? Seriously no way to sell off surplus materials even if you can't buy would be wonderful. I still have a number of enhancments I need buit thank you all for the help. This does helpo a fair bit

Yeah.. kind of disappointing that I have a ton of surplus minerals, but not enough credits to buy recipes to use the minerals.

I wish they didn't dumb down this part of the game. I had no difficulty dealing with a store and buying/selling things in ME1. I doubt most people did.

And welcome to one of the more frustrating parts of the game. No guaranteed income of credits means that you will either be going into the final battle with not everything researched, or floating around after the game ends (when you select continue) and eventually running out of gas.

Indeed, I'm having the same problems. Just got to Ilium, got the discount for the weapons store but still as soon as I buy the AR upgrade -WHAM!- (no pun intended) about 40% of my credits go down the drain. I was just lucky I started with a "rich" character from ME1.

Perhaps the resource broker that Jetfire mentioned might be an idea for future DLC?

Yeah.. If the materials could also be sold for credits it would be better.. But I think they didn't want to make the suicide mission too easy..

It just doesn't make sense from an in-game logic point of view. Cerberus spends vast amounts of money bringing Shepard back from the dead, they build this state-of-the-art ship for him, provide a crew, pay for just about anything....and here we have John Shepard, re-animated savior of the galaxy, scrounging around for credits!

Nevermind ;)

1. Don't buy equipment you don't need. Like the armor that gives you +melee damage. Or the upgrade that gives you +melee damage. Wasted. Unless you like that kind of thing.

2. Don't scan unless you have a need for the minerals. Even then, only scan on Rich planets, and only when you find a significant mineral deposit.

3. Don't get the Med-Bay upgrade.

4. Almost every shop owner will give you a discount with enough paragon or renegade points.

5. You really don't need the fish or model ships... You do need Hanar porn. Everyone needs Hanar porn.

6. Scan everything in Missions, open every safe and hack every terminal.

There is plenty of money out there... just gotta find and not waste.

I... never really had credit problems on my first play through. Got 90% of the upgrades, although I missed picking up some of the required stuff for others. I did run low on credits some times, went back later when I had more, never intentionally looked for credits at all, just opened everything I could find. Beat it in 29 hours or so, guessing I missed quite a few side quests. Not sure why people are getting such different results...

I started a new char in ME2 (never having played ME1, so didnt get any bonuses), and apart from the beginning, i always had plenty of credits. Not enough to immediately buy everything at every station, but some selective buys in between missions, i soon had every store emptied, and hundreds of thousands of cash to spare. Absolutely no cheating involved (like the first reply suggests).

Just hack the PDA / wall safes you come across, do side missions for extra income, and its a breeze really.

Initially i spent a *lot* of time mineral harvesting (which is boring in the extreme), but once i had a stockpile of 100k or more of each, i never really had to harvest again, just some cherry picking here and there.

Okay, well here's the thing, it's a bit irritating when you start with a rich ME1 save, do every. single. mission. in the game (I have 100% explored every inch of the galaxy and done every side quest, and if I missed a single wall safe or terminal, kudos to the person who hid it) and still can't afford all the upgrades before the suicide mission.

Yeah, maybe I could have skipped the melee upgrade or the death mask helmet, but I would think that after doing EVERYTHING there is to do in this game I would be able to afford all the upgrades. I mean, it's just a thorn in the side of anyone who wants to do a completionist run at the game.

I'm sitting here at the cusp of the suicide mission, nothing left in assignments, no planets left to scan for anomalies, not a single item purchased without first getting a discount, and can't get the last upgrade I need. That's INFURIATING.

If all else fails, you can make pretty much infinite credits on the Krogan world by betting on Urz. It's tedious as hell though at only 500 credits a pop. Good luck, I haven't gotten that desperate yet, although I'm definitely frustrated that there's still stuff I can't get after having done every mission and assignment.

...even with ALL the expansion content.
