not sure if this is a easter egg or not but you hear grunt in battle say

"i am Krogan" reference to the movie 300 i know it worded different but the sound of it reminds of 300

I have no idea why people keep bringing up 300 in this instance - this is clearly a Beowulf thing. Remember, 'I am BEOWULF!'

on Illium, there is a Turian seeking relations with a Quarian that just dumped her human boyfriend. as the conversation goes on, she will sarcastically poke fun at "human fascination" with Quarians. obvious poke at the Tali fans around here.

If you stand around listening to this convo long enough, the quarian will say "Excuse me, human. This is a private conversation".

Yes, right after she starts telling the Turian about the vibrator built into her suit.

Odd, I thought it was a reference to ST:TNG, the first episode with Whorf's brother, where the brother goads Whorf until he bellows, "I am KLINGON!"

The gamesalesman mentions Grim Terminus Alliance (GTA) and he says he doesn''t understand why people want to edit out the slaves from it, it's just a game - a reference to Australia.

"Great, this is where it starts and we're all just organic batteries"

Yeah, I was seeing that as well.

It's BEOWULF, ST is referencing beowulf in that, and so is mass effect, it is one of the most legendary macho lines in history ever IMO.

The I am beowulf meme is from the Movie, not the poem. So what you are talking about wouldn't have existed for Star Trek to reference :P

In the Eternity Bar on Illium, where the quarian talks about her past relationship with a Human to a Turian friend. It had Conrad written all over it.

I also thought Wrex's comment about crapping dark matter was a clear reference to Futurama

This is one of few pop culture references I felt good about actually getting!

I like the krogan fish quest. I thought it was awesome whenever...

Krogan A: "They think we are all a security risk"

Krogan B: "Damn Turians, we should kill them all."

Oh, there are so many easter eggs that I loved! I have to admit that I didn't get all of them on my first playthrough though *sighs*

Blasto was one of my favorites, since I totally didn't see it coming. The way that announcer says "He's got a lover in every port, and a gun in eeevery tentacle." still cracks me up a lot more than it should.

A number of quests certainly pay homage to other games as well. There is the one quest where you have to disable a rouge ai on a ship or space station and the ai face comes on the big screen, a reference to system shock 2 I would think.

I knooow! I don't even want to mention how much that surprised me. Positively, I mean.

Anyway, another great easter egg was the reference to HAL 9000 that Joker makes at some point. The one about EDI singing Daisy Bell. But I guess that this has already been mentioned in this thread several times. I can't think of anything else though. Argh.

There's actually a reference to System Shock? I didn't notice that at all! That's neat.

I don't even think I ever played that side quest. Which one was it?

Same here I don't remember any sidequest where you see Overlord, or whatever the ai from Tron was.

I went back and watched the Ship Graveyard scene again and I didn't see the Pillr of Autumn.  Truthfully the ship in question, at least the one I'm assuming people are talking about, looked more like the Hugo Gernsback (however you spell it) The one in Jacob's Loyalty Mission.

is that the one everyone's talking about?

They probably can't use the Pillar of Autumn for copyright reasons.
