not sure if this is a easter egg or not but you hear grunt in battle say
"i am Krogan" reference to the movie 300 i know it worded different but the sound of it reminds of 300
I have no idea why people keep bringing up 300 in this instance - this is clearly a Beowulf thing. Remember, 'I am BEOWULF!'
Odd, I thought it was a reference to ST:TNG, the first episode with Whorf's brother, where the brother goads Whorf until he bellows, "I am KLINGON!"
It's BEOWULF, ST is referencing beowulf in that, and so is mass effect, it is one of the most legendary macho lines in history ever IMO.
The I am beowulf meme is from the Movie, not the poem. So what you are talking about wouldn't have existed for Star Trek to reference
No it was in the poem as well and IMO was much more badass in the poem with him physically ripping off grendel's arm instead of slamming it in the door

What translation is it? Maybe one I havn't read yet. The only time I remember anything close to that was "I am Beowulf named..." in a calm conversation early in the poem.

I can't remember which translation it was that was in my Senior Eng Book, but it was older than the movie and had the line at the same location as the film, after the "I am maimer" speech and right before he rips off his arm.
Wow, whatever translation your school used was horribly flawed. That is a creation of the movie. Disapointed to hear anything like that would be included in an academic resource.

Where was this beerfish?
It's just one of the sidequests where you have to open doors in a certain order and shut things down or turn them on in order. The AI is talking at times as you carry out these tasks. At the fnal shut down screen a pic of the AI comes up as you are shutting it down. It is not a pick of shodan of course but the theme is very SS2 ish.

Jeirt you are an easter egg.
I knooow! I don't even want to mention how much that surprised me. Positively, I mean.
Anyway, another great easter egg was the reference to HAL 9000 that Joker makes at some point. The one about EDI singing Daisy Bell. But I guess that this has already been mentioned in this thread several times. I can't think of anything else though. Argh.Beerfish wrote...
A number of quests certainly pay homage to other games as well. There is the one quest where you have to disable a rouge ai on a ship or space station and the ai face comes on the big screen, a reference to system shock 2 I would think.
There's actually a reference to System Shock? I didn't notice that at all! That's neat.
I don't even think I ever played that side quest. Which one was it?
It starts off by doing the mission (Eagle Nebula, Amun system, Neith) where you find a crashed ship. When you shut off the distress beacon you start getting swarmed by rogue LOKI mechs, and one YMIR.
After you complete that you get a follow-up mission that sends you to investigate where the mechs came from which leads you to the station.

Movies and TV:
Jack is a walking reference to Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick.
Yeah I always wondered about that if it was intentional or merely coincidence.
However not exactly an easter egg but I did enjoy the conversation with Mordin on the Normandy where he tells my male Shepard that a romantic relationship between them wouldnt work and tries to let Shepard down easy.

Does this count as an Easter Egg?
Here goes: Krogan Poetry.Thats right. Close your ears and run for cover...
I'd count it... Krogan Vogon
Didn't think about it at the time, but you're right!
"Vogon poetry is the third worst in the Universe. The second worst is that of the Azgoths of Kria. During a recitation by their Poet Master Grunthos the Flatulent, of his poem, Ode to a Small Lump of Green Putty I Found in My Armpit One Midsummer Morning, four of his audience members died of internal hemorrhaging, and the president of the Mid-Galactic Arts Nobbling Council, survived by gnawing one of his own legs off... The very worst poetry in the universe died along with its creator, Paula Nancy Millstone Jennings of Sussex... in the destruction of the planet Earth."
OMFG Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy for the ****ing win I didnt think of that.

Haha, I wish I were funny enough to figure out a "Geth accidentally infiltrate" picture
Also, I wish we could spend more time with Legion without cheating :/

Garrus: Coooome on. It was an opprtunity to share.
Tali: This conversation is over.
Garrus: Tell me again about your immune system!
Tali: I have a shotgun.
Garrus: Hmm. Maybe we'll talk later.

Blue Sun mercenaries are a reference to the Blue Sun corporation from Firefly. One of your crewmen talks about a New Canton. Jack is sort of a reference to River. When you first meet Zaeed, he says that it's time to be "big god damn heroes."
Mordin's speech pattern seems to be based on William Shatner. It's just been sped up.
One of Jacob's battle cries is "get over here," which could be a reference to Mortal Kombat.
Actually its a reference to the Black Suns in star wars.
I've always thought of it as being a reference to both
That's just it. Bio replied to a similar thread in the DA:O forums...and basically said that the majority of "easter-eggs" people were coming up with just were NOT done intentionally and how it was odd how far some stretch things to meet their "references"
Blue Suns could be a reference to nothing..just a similar name...as could 99% of things mentioned here.
