Mordin advising you to have yourself probed for bugs if you sleep with a Cerberus operative (meaning Miranda), and offering to give you a pamphlet on "inventive uses of mass effect fields" - you can accuse him of yanking your chain and he gets mock-huffy about the sacred doctor-patient relationship... really amusing dialogue option there

These are awesome, but I haven't heard all the variations yet (including Miranda, now I might have to).
If you have an inter-species relationship, Mordin recommends various ointments to help.
If you haven't pursued a relationship yet (as a femshep), Mordin makes a pass at you.

If you shoot one of your squadmates during combat, they might die.

If you shoot one of your squadmates with the Blackhole gun, they will receive no damage, while you, if close enough will die.

Crowbar to the face line during a conference on the Normandy about waking Grunt up, well it reminds me of Half life with Gordon, Barney, Gina and Colette are fond of using Crowbar to the faces of their enemies and crates.

Jack is more of a reference to Jack from Pitch Black / Chronicles of Riddick than River. All she's missing is a pair of goggles and a Furian she knew when she was a kid.

I just realised this and don't know if it's been mentioned. But Anderson mentions "fighting the good fight." Could be a reference to Fallout 3's "ThreeDog" and his broadcastings.

Umm.. the Vas thing is just the Quarian version of Van/Von in Dutch and Germanic names.

That was proven wrong in a more recent post. Vas basically means "of the/crew member of" So it would translate out as "Tali'Zorah of the Normandy" or "Tali'Zorah, crew member of Normandy." It's basically a traditional title, that more than likely started when they were driven from their homeworld, or it could be a conversion from when they were on their planet. It could be something like a conversion of "Vas [tribe name]" to "Vas [ship name]."

There are a whole bunch of references to obscure languages. For example, one star system has all its planets named in Hittite (though the names are very "liberally" translated in the planet descriptions). I can't remember which one it was though.

Also, Ardat-Yaksi comes from two languages: 'ardat' is the name for a generic female demon in Babylonian mythology, and 'yaksi' in the word for a female demon in Sanskrit (like the yaksa's in the Meghaduta). Very highbrow stuff. The Norse words and Greek have already pointed out. I would expect the the Quarian language to be based on Arabic, or some other Semitic language. Tali's accent is very Middle Eastern (not Russian as some people have guessed).

This is not a easter egg, I just dig through few files.

It's about Polish localization. Garrus' romance culmination dialogue files in this case (I guess it applies to other dialogues/characters as well). As we know, only female Shepard can take Garrus to this point, but in Polish files there are scenario lines recorded with male Shepard's voice too, where in INT files those lines are mute and have 0:00 duration time. Waste of space on DVD, Polish developers, or you're taking your job too seriously?? :D

There's a good parody on the Nigerian style email spam from a Batarian. He says he has acces to unique Prothean technology, that's unfortunately sealed, but can be unsealed for a huge money transfer to his account. It even starts with Dear Sir/Madam or something, if I recall correctly. Made me laugh.

This recruits is a 20kilos ferros slug. FEEL THE WEIGHT!

Every 5 seconds, the main gun of an Everest-class dreadnought accelerates 1 to 1.3% of light speed.

It impacts with the force of a 38-kiloton bomb. That is three times the yield of the city-buster dropped on Hiroshima back on Earth.

That means, SIR ISAAC NEWTON IS THE DEADLIEST SONOFA**** IN SPACE!

I think my favorite is overhearing a convo at the game merchants, with a fan complaining about "how the new rpgs with their big decisions and furious combat are inferior to old school games where you needed to drink water to stay alive and had tons of inventory management to deal with." I felt as if Bioware was trying to say something.

I loled when i heard him say in in battle....................................

I haven't yet seen the reference to the movie add overheard in illium about the first Hanar specter. There's a speech that's a ME universe twist to the "I know what you're thinking, did I fire 6 bullets or only 5.... do you feel lucky, punk?" Dirty Harry line.

EDIT - that is Blasto - couldn't remember the name - then it's been mentioned already...

The Shin Akiba section of the markets on the Citadel is an interesting cultural and linguistic easter egg.

'Shin' is Japanese for 'new'. 'Akiba' is an abbreviated nickname for the Akihabara district of Tokyo, which is the nerd/geek hub of the city, where the shops specialise in manga, toys, figurines, merchandising, and computer and electronics parts.
