Okay now finishing the game i am a little disappointed with mostly 2 aspects of the game and want to see if anyone else feels the same.
*****************SPOILER********************
Upon completing the game you get the option to carry on or restart game maintaining your level items etc which i thought was great so i chose to carry on.... what a mistake this whole epic game has been leading upto the climatic event the finale where you save the galaxy again from the return of the reapers/collectors yet.... no one gives a sh*t if you carry on at the end. No news casts no new speech from the council or even Cpt Anderson no congrats just all feels very tact on and half arsed and the worst thing is you crew dialog doesnt even change so theyre all still banging on about how theyre going to do things when our mission is over, the missions IS over! Unless i just dreamed the whole epic fight scene? Even no re-apperance from ash to say hey now ur jobs done we can hook up, nish nada just feels like the whole event has been swept under the rug. I even went back to liara.... no new options so what was the pointin carrying on exccept to go from a spectre to mining nub to upgrade your ship which no longer needs upgrades because youve already sent the collectors packing! I have finished 1 or 2 little minor quests but whats the point if no new dialog or no new options are opened or there is no new content unlocked from me1 just feels like i kinda wasted my time importing my charecter with all past releationships etc. I just feel deflated and abit let down seeing ash crush and gril me was bad enough but to have an option that lets you still carryon but no one really cares youve finished the storyline is just silly. now im just doing what all retired war vets do i guess.... hittin the interstella strip bars!
Anyone else feel this way?
end game :(... Spoiler warning

Yeah, I certainly felt this way.
To be perfectly honest, even though this game was amazing, it feels like BioWare kinda passed on the character interaction and focused on the gameplay. Compared to Mass 1, Mass 2 takes the gameplay to above and beyond. Quite frankly, Mass 2 is a better shooter than lots of other shooters I've played in my day, like Halo or Gears of War.
But, it almost feels as though you guys(BioWare) went to the gameplay extreme, and just kinda forgot about the character interaction aspects. A lot of dialogue just seems...well, for the lack of a better term... missing.
Udina has like, what, 5 lines? Anderson seems sidelined too.

The point of allowing you to play after the final mission is so that you can finish any quests that you might have missed. It is not so that you can find out what happens next. That's what ME3 is for.

I understand that its to finish the 1 or 2 quests you may have left but i still think for everyone to fully ignore the fact people have now stopped being kidnapped in anway shape or form its poor after the rest of the game has been so intense and story driven.... i didnt want a whole new game just some recognition for my deeds a few new bits of dialog would have been nice even if its just from your main team mates. Still an epic game tho regardless

I kind of agree with you on this. They should have at least put in some dialogue to make it seem that the big mission was ACTUALLY over. I mean it just feels like after you b eat the game and continue, the world stops turning. I'd like to see how they fix this in ME3 IF they do it in ME3. But after bringing it up I don't think they do a continue on a series finale. lol

I think the reason there isnt any parades or congratulations is because no one knows what you did. No one has any idea other then the Illusive Man what you're doing beyond the Omega 4 Relay.

I think if you choose to carry on rather than start over it's sorta like how they do that end game save in Dragon Age. It's allowing you to play DLC (and finish quests, unlike DA) but it takes place BEFORE the big mission. So technically, you haven't run the suicide mission yet and no one should be congratulating you.

I think a couple of minor acknowledgments should have been made by certain characters in the know (Councilor Anderson and my own crew/team, I'm looking at you) but remember that the galaxy in general never had any idea what the hell was going on. The governments of the galaxy are still issuing public denials of pretty much everything that's going on behind the scenes that Shepard is dealing with. The vast majority of people you interact with in the game have no reason to give you congrats or even acknowledge your achievement because they have no freaking clue any of it was even happening. Also, the only two reasons for the post game are so you can still finish all the missions in the game and so you can play new dlc without having to start a new game to get to it (something I am immensely pleased with because of how much that very issue frustrates me with DA:O).

If you feel that way, then don't continue. After playing DAO, I never had any sense that this game would be any different. Remember in DAO the save is actually before the end. That makes even less sense.
The only explanation is that they wanted to let you finish your quests, and be able to play new DLC. There is really no in game explanation. Once I had talked to all my squad mates after the final battle, I had nothing left to do anyways.

Well for me, I dont care who congratulates what. I just want the dialogue to continue just a little bit after you beat the game. Like with Yeoman Chambers. ;D

They could have improved the resolution for continuing to play without going into story stuff (for ME3). Some extra dialogue for the crew that at least continues to acknowledge that the mission is over would be great; not where everyone is still talking as though you've yet to take on the Collectors. Small things like that can make all the difference. I appreciate being able to continue playing the game after the final boss, but I would have appreciated even more having that story continuity. Even Garrus, my LI, talks like we haven't even consummated the relationship. Heck, we all stuck it to Cerberus and went rogue; no one seems to acknowledge that either. What gives?
One or two lines more would have changed that feeling of incompleteness and you wouldn't have had to delve into possible ME3 story parts at all.

What were you expecting? A whole other game to play after beating the mission? If you read the blurb it says: finishing up additional missions/quests and DLC(DLC is basically the only reason)

No. Eradyn pretty much summed it up for me. Except Miranda is (and always will be ;D) my LI.

I wanted a parade and people congratulatiing me calling me a hero. I was kinda disapointed when i didn't see any of this. I liked the ending of mass effect 1 better, all the attention mmm

Not me. I don't remember my squad mates saying they want to do anything after the mission...after the mission. Bringing Tali up to my room is fun even the the animation is way too repetitive and she doesn't say anything. Anyway, I have been thinking, no one but Cerebus knows you went to the Collectors Base. I find that interesting.

Dont forget one thing though guys: everyone on your team knows that the battle is just beginning. They all realize that the reapers are still out there and that they're coming, its only natural that they don't really react any differently. Especially the squad members that have been with you before, they know how you roll.
Its kinda like: okay, so I'm climbing a mountain. ME2 is kinda like finishing the final preparations for the climb that will be ME3.
