I have the same problem, at the Jack/Miranda agruement, I sided with Miranda (I use her more), Then I went to talk to Jack and the options were grayed out, so I raised my paragon to I think full (on my screen it looks like it) and still the paragon option is grayed out, is this some bug or the game wants u to get full paragon?
Turns out you need the class specialization with 100% negotiation.
Another reason I miss the old system.

What's combat gotta do with it? That wasn't what the argument was about. =.=douchebag5000 wrote...

You mean the old system which had the exact same mechanic, leveling your conversation skills?
Or do you miss the bug exploits that let you raise them for free?

Also does Miranda lose loyalty if you side with Jack?

It's a function of your Paragon score... the more you pop your Paragon the more Charm options (negotiation) you get.JasonPogo wrote...
Wait how do you lvl negotiation?
Also the Death Mask or the Inferno Armor will do it too...

No, the argument was about how they were both wrong.
Miranda continued to be in denial regarding the crazy **** cerberus was doing, and Jack continued to act like an egotistical jerk as if she had been cerberus' only victim when we find out the other kids had suffered even worst.
I sided with Miranda simply because of the two it's obvious Jack was the one who picked a fight, and if you take Miranda on Jack's loyalty mission, your hear a couple of comments from her where you begin to see she is horrified at the prospect that cerberus might be involved in crap like that.

I have this issue too. Of course, I sided with Miranda (romancing her), so now Jack is unwilling to talk and isn't loyal anymore. I am Sentinel with the Guardian specialization, supposedly has full negotiation, and near full paragon, and I STILL can't persuade her. I would really like everyone to survive and I don't want it all to crumble just because of Jack.
I beet the game yesterday and everyone survived. I just didn't use jack in any part of the final mission.

I'm a bit confused why Jack died in my playthrough.
I thought she was loyal but ended up getting eaten by the swarm during the mission where one of your biotics is shielding you.
The only thing I can think of that went wrong is that I accidentally romanced her along side the character I was trying to romance. She was angry about it but I don't think the computer showed her loyalty being effected.

EDIT* I would recommend siding with Jack if you can't negotiate the situation, it seems Miranda is easier to make loyal again after the fight.

I don't understand how this argument was harder to intermediate that the Tali/Legion one. That was random.

You may have either picked the wrong character to generate the biotic shield, or they weren't loyal. The best candidates for the biotic specialist are Jack and Samara. If they aren't loyal, the shield will fizzle out right before you get to the door and one of your squadmates will be lost. If they are, they'll gather their power and blast away the swarm so that everyone can get through.
