The secret to the endgame survival is ONLY using loyal members for the special tasks. And naturally they need to be the right ones too. My vent/tech -fellow died always, since i used miranda as the second team leader, and she wasnt loyal. Once I switched to Garrus, the thing was smooth sailing.

So not everyone needs to be loyal, only the ones you plan to use as specialists on the final mission.

i had like 25% paragon and 50% renegade and got both options when they were fighting, i picked renegade and told them to stfu for the points. maybe your game is bugged.

Well in my case, one of the unloyal ones always dies off at the end regardless of where they are (with me or with the rest at the door)

The old system was dumb. You had to raise Renegade and Paragon separately, where as now it is just raising your speechcraft (negotiation) skill and following the path you like most.

This topic REALLY needs a sticky.

Have 4 points in your class skill and ~3 bars of Renegade/Paragon. Problem solved.

Wrong. I'm over half-way through the top bar of paragon, with the 100% bonus to negotiation (class skill), and it still doesn't work. I reckon it's a bug. Tali and Legion were fine for me.

I am having the same issue and My Paragon is almost maxed out( 1/2 bar from full) and I am Vanguard with my Champion skill max... and the options are still grayed out...

What I may do is see if takjng Jack side causes Miranda to do the same thing...

If it does, you're luckier than I was. I've had this every time I've played through. Mind you, it was using the same character. Vanguard as well, as a matter of fact.

Same 'problem' here. Paragon>80% (with Renegade just over 20%) and Jack's still sulking (both options greyed out).

Feel like giving up on her tbh. Freed her from a high-security prison, then went to all the trouble of visiting some god-forsaken planet just so she could deal with her past and let her nuke the Cerberus facility like she wanted. Then she gets pissed just because my Shepard won't side with her in a cat-fight.....

It's Miranda who's getting irritating. I've got what must be 100% paragon and I'm still greyed out even with the death mask. She's supposed to be a competent professional and she's acting like a seven year old. I can kind of understand Jack sulking, but for Miranda it's hugely out of character. I'm playing femshep and not romancing Jack. I did leave Miranda's loyalty mission quite late, so that might be one factor.

Commando/soldier only gives you +70% paragon/renegade if maxed.

I've heard some rumor about higher level characters needing more paragon/renegade points to not lose someone's loyalty, so it explains Raezaiel's outcome depending on when he/she did it. I'm going to try soon, just done Horizon, because this thing is bugging me. Shock Trooper and in the last section of Paragon didn't seem to help. Started a new character and at the start I put level 3 passive ability to give me a point boost, should be almost half full now.

I think it's a bug.

Or maybe if you don't do one of their missions soon enough, the challenge for the negotiation becomes higher.

I have really no clue. It worked fine on my first two playthroughs, but my third I didn't get that option.

This is definately not true, as I had all but a hair left to max Paragon, and I couldn't interrupt, and the option to talk to her later stayed gray, even after my Paragon meter was maxed. And that's with the skill for negotiating maxed. Also, can't use any of the gear specials to help, as you are in civies when the fight happens.

I eventually got the option after I completed the final mission. I must have been a couple of points short before then (I did have the 100% paragon option switched on). I'd advise getting Jack early and doing her and Miranda's loyalty missions first thing.

Just got the paragon option available - Level 18, Shock Trooper, not even in the final sector of paragon. Level 30 Shock trooper about halfway in the last sector didn't have it available. Get these loyalty missions done asap.

This might be something for BioWare to look into.

I have this issue too. Of course, I sided with Miranda (romancing her), so now Jack is unwilling to talk and isn't loyal anymore. I am Sentinel with the Guardian specialization, supposedly has full negotiation, and near full paragon, and I STILL can't persuade her. I would really like everyone to survive and I don't want it all to crumble just because of Jack.

I am in the EXACT same circumstance. I am playing the 360 version. Did you ever resolve this? At the point it feels like my only hope is to try to get unloyal jack to survive the final mission. No way this isnt a glitch.

Well, maybe or not.  The Strategy Guide at least mentions it explicitly.

Doesnt it also say explicitly that 100% paragon/renegade = guaranteed open of paragon/renegade persuasion?
