Truth be told folks, think about this more sensibly.
The mechanics, the quest order, the fact that the crafting skills are akin to mmo gameplay plus the fact that theres no alignment system means....
Come on folks, the man does have a point right?
Nope. All you've descrtibed are standard RPG mechanics. The hallmark of an MMO is no story and pointless XP and item grinding. Thank the Maker there's none of that in DAO.

World of Warcraft has been around for years. It's established and stable. Blizzard made the right decision in choosing to broaden their horizons and develop another.
I'm not saying it's too far off from reality to wonder. If it weren't for the timing I'd be inclined to agree with you. But Bioware's MMO isn't even out yet, and even when it does come out, they'll need to wait a while before they determine whether or not it was worth it. That's a long time waiting for a sequel to Dragon Age.
Did you know that an ME 3 is already being worked on? Bioware has many, many "tricks" up their sleeves. There's lots coming yet...dlc/expansions for Dragon Age, ME2, ME 3..their Star wars MMO ..ayup..busy guys these devs.

Besides, the rumour about an Elder Scrolls based MMO is not about one by Bethesda but it is about one by Zenimax Online.

So why release DA:O and it's DLC for XBOX 360 then? Are you saying it was Bioware's intent to gouge console gamers for $100 + plus and then leave them high and dry unable to continue in the sequel?
There's a winning strategy.

I can't stand most of the MMO playerbase these days and it will only water down the franchise. I love Dragon Age but I do not want a Dragon Age MMO

And if they did make this a MMO there would be people that would buy it . And there would probably
be some that buy BOTH. Now how exactly could this hurt them in any way possible ? I don't think that they have different totally separate companies within the same company. To make it possible to compete against themselves.
Spock has a saying for this .....
Edit: oh forgot to give my view Personally with the broken AI system that they have and the need to pause its very unlikely to happen. The need to pause alone almost guarantees this game wont become one .It would be cool to try and implement maybe a PVP arena where you have to set up your tactics and put health poultices on your skill bar so they can use one themselves before the match starts, and without the need for the pausing . Just to see how well you built your team/and choice of tactics compared and against others . But other then that no please dont its nice being able to play without alot of others using things like pick-it and such, and fight for the loot.

I must agree with Sten!I like MMO's.But im enjoying DAO immensely. If you ask me its more enjoyable knowing your max level is 20 and you really have to earn your way as opposed to grind your way there. The only ones i tend to anger are the Darkspawn and thats good for me!And as far as the TOR goes i hope max level isnt level 80.If it mirrors DAO then it will be a hit since it will be a true innovative MMO.

A DM-client style component for small-party MP like NWN? Sure. But not MMO.

Dragon Age will not work as an MMO now and hopefully never will. You need time to evolve your world into something special and different and with just 1 game that is not possible, or at least we as the players wouldn't know as much about the world for it to be nearly as interesting.
Besides, making it an MMO subtracts the true reason people play DAO, to Roleplay and interact with different characters, if you strip DAO of that and add thousands of ****heads I have to interact with on a daily bases I am sorry I have no interest especially if it is in the Dragon Age World.

MMO somehow kill game storyline also.
Not exactly, from the 2 MMOs I have played to Max level (WAR and WoW) both have had story behind them just the execution of them is much different. With Both you actually have to read the quest's text to understand and become immersed in the world which is something I can bet a good 95% of all MMO players DON'T do. In most cases an MMO is basiclly a watered down RPG. With WoW their expansions have tried to add more cinematic style interactions to tell the story since people lack the intelligence to read quests. WAR had a huge tome of knowledge that dictated all the lore you discovered through out the world.
However yes this would take away from all the charm of a single player expirence. DA:O is ment to be single player, it is told through cut scenes, voice acting, character progression and story. An MMO would strip the game of all of this so it wouldn't feel like DAO and personally I think a Dragon Age MMO would just end up as another Generic of Good vs Evil MMO like a lot of them are. This is partly because the world hasn't had time to develop in the eyes of the player which is what I explained in my other post how WoW was such a success because we knew about almost everything going into it.
Overall: NO DRAGON AGE MMO, SEQUELS AND EXPANSIONS PLEASE!

I agree with you about WaR but not WoW, i used to be Blizzard fan and interest in warcraft story and i spend couple years with WoW
however even though gameplay and PvP is lovely, somehow i don't enjoy much doing quest. i feel like laterly Blizzard mess up with storyline.
Overall: Make Dragon Age 2 or more expansions in future...better than MMO:whistle:

One last point, is that I had always hoped the Elder Scrolls universe would make an MMO, though it would possibly be a very big MMO, and prior to the days of MMO's, Daggerfall played like one (imagine exploring 62,394 square miles of space), you could play the game for a year and still have something to do.
