im a renegade so i chose to let cerberus take a look at the Geth you pick up after the Reaper IFF mission. i originally chose to talk to him first but when i saw that it gave me paragon pts i reloaded my save. So now am i completely screwed out of him joining my team??

If you decide to talk to the geth (Paragon), you will acquire it as an ally. If you decide to let Cerberus take the geth (Renegade), you will receive the credit reward but will not be able to recruit it to your cause.

I'm a Paragade, more paragon than renegade, but sometimes the "enlightened" path isn't always the best idea. You know, like letting the badguy talk for 30 seconds when you could just ignite the gasline underneath him!

I don't think Legion will have that big of impact if you let Cerberus handle his body. I had a flawless finale with the other 11 squadmates (including Zaeed). As long as you follow the general guide in assigning squadmates to the tasks, you should be okay.

except legion, story wise can potentially be instrimental in ending the war between the geth and quarians, and teaches you more than you could ever hope to know about the reapers, and the heritics.

If you put it that way, then yes. Well I'm hoping to get Legion on my 3rd playthrough as I *accidently* passed him off to Cerberus during my Renegade run (my 2nd playthrough).
