I wasn't too thrilled with Grunt until his bad joke about "get the point" complete with quotation finger gesture and his dry chuckle. That little detail completely endeared him to me.
It's "much point" you weakling! Rawr!
But, yeah, to all the naysayers who were like "meeeehhhh, Grunt's just some thug and nowhere near as cool as Wrex." Ha ha, I'd say "I hate to say I told you so," but I'd be lying.

It was awesome to be Grunt's mentor, with both Shepard and Wrex being his elders, slowing beginning to tutor him

"This is great. Me remembering glorious kills and you doing that funny human thing."
"Much point. Heh.... Nevermind."
And his realization that he hates turians was great, along with his glee when he talks about the imprint of the turian getting owned by a krogan.

Krogans are able to live for around a thousand years or two. They have around the same life span as the Asari.
So I would peg Wrex at around 500 to 700 years old, given the age lines in his face and the scars he carries.
Grunt is a Tank-born, but I went through his personal quest to make him a full adult. And I loved every minute of it.
You just killed the Thresher Maw! Something's happening to Grunt! Grunt is Evolving! PRESS B QUICK!!!!!!!

Edit: The renegade line "Grunt will strengthen clan Urdnot. Name your target, it will die" is also one of my favorites. It made me feel like Jean Luc helping Worf with a Klingon issue...

"Not your name. Mine." That was the line that I loved instantly.

Grunt was pretty cool for me when he smashed Shepard against the glass and demanded to know a name. "I'm Commander Shepard of the Normandy and I don't take kindly to threats."

Grunt stayed in the tank my first time around. When I opened it on the second playthrough I was pleasantly surprised. "Shepard is my Battlemaster" is one of my favorite lines. I take him everywhere!

Yeah! As soon as I began Grunt's loyalty mission I completely slipped into that mindset. Picard, as a diplomat, knew that he had to act ruthlessly and brutally when he was on the Klingon homeworld, and I had my Shepard do the same. So, even though he was two thirds Paragon, he was still headbutting krogan left and right, demanding they fight for honour, and generally being a badass.

I know what you mean, at first I was kinda pissed off because he was replacing Wrex but as I engaged in conversations with him I really started to like the character.
It is kinda cute because he is still a young Krogan and he is a bit naive and he is still figuring out how he fits in as a Krogan.

Yeah! I'm a paragon but let my renegade side out on Tuchanka. And I loved convincing the sick scout on Mordin's mission to go back to camp Urdnot. "Only a super badass krogan could make it back to camp after being experimented on" "rawrrr! yes!" "ahem, I don't think you heard right, I said a BADASS could do it" "RAWR RAWR I CAN DO IT, AND I'M GOING TO TEH LADIEZ CAMP TOO"

Persuading that scout is even funnier if you use the Paragon option and have Tali in the party.

That's the line that really made me like him. He's a total badass plus during the final battle I never had to revive him once due to his being near enough indestructible. He and Tali left me to deal with the final boss while they took out the collectors.

oh, what happens? I did use the Paragon options (maybe it's the same as Renegade in this case); what does Tali say?

Shepard basically says that if the scout were badass he'd go back to the camp, not sit there "whining like a Quarian with a stomach ache", then Tali says "Hey, I'm standing right here!".
