I can't get past the part in Mages Asunder where there are five mages in a room. Two instructors and three pupils. I have tried everything I can think of. My PC is a mage. Any help would be great.

I tend to use the burning man form and drop a fireball on them from a distance, or throw a boulder if you've got the golem form. Sometimes luring them one at a time and using the Spirit form works too. And if memory serves me, there's a lyrium vein in the room previous, so you can always lure one, run to that room, fight them off and use the vein to heal yourself if necessary. I usually end up having to do that fight two or three times, so I feel your pain.

I used Burning Man form at that point and fireball-ed them from the doorway, then ran back into the preceding room and fireball-ed them again as they bunched up in the second doorway. You can always pop a health potion (in human form) if you need one.



There may be other ways to do it, but that worked well for me. Running backward gives your fireball spell time to regen. It's a tough room, to be sure.

I run close enough that they see me and then run back out, all the way to the back of the room. I watch the red dots on the map and then when they get near the doorway, I fireball them Many of them clog up the door and burn and die. Well, that is why as a child we were taught to line up during firedrills I suppose, guess that don't do that at the tower

Tactics aren't my strongest area. I will try luring them to the door so they bunch up. Thanks!!

Yeah I used burning man to I didn't even need to run through the door since they just cast fire spells at me.

I'm having trouble at this same spot. I've tried fireballing the 3 that I can reach from the doorway, but they all seem to be resistant to fire. I haven't tried running back to previous rooms, so I'll give that a shot later.



The spirit form dies nearly as fast as the human form (dwarf, elf, whatever), so that was pretty useless, and the burning form is extremely weak against that stupid earth-based spell that one of the mages is so fond of.

They all use fire spells. Just use burning man and chuck a fireball at them. Easy.
