Be patient. A patch is coming. The best thing you can do is properly aid in explaining your issue. If you've done that to the best of your ability and nobody has been able to help then hope for the best and that your issue is addressed in the first and/or subsequent patches.

No the games needs patches. Seems to have alot of envirment bugs. I had to restart missions so many times to to warping and text bugs which ends up putting me in the ground. Levtating me 50 feet about the ground or leaving my body parts in a wall I took cover behind. The game was not polished.
I don't think anyone is arguing against a patch. It's pretty clear there are some issues that need fixing.
In my opinion the game is polished. The problems don't stem from a rushed or unpolished game, they are the same problem every game (made in the last 8 years) has when they release - the multitude of systems and configurations (due mainly to the influx of 'gaming rigs' and people who build their own) that, I'm sorry to say, no developer ever tests for. And nor should they - that would not only be time consuming but also cost a fortune. And no that doesn't mean we are beta testers either, it means that the game works fine for them and their testers and for the systems that inherently meet or better what they use.

This game is significantly better than ME1. i had repeated crashes, freezes and other problems with the first Mass Effect where as the sequel so far for me has been stable. My only complaint would be having to hold down the right mouse button when scanning a planet. that really causes some serious cramps etc and would love to see it changed to a toggle or something.
Zomg yes. Just using space and/or WASD (or arrows) would be nice. I found that switching to higher dpi helps a bit though.

I was playing this on a E6420 2.13ghz, 2gigs of ram, and 8800gt. Pretty low but definitely over minimum specs. For the most part, its playable although I fall victim to the random fps drop. Meaning, after an hour or so of smooth play, it goes berserk. The only thing that resolves this is setting the cpu affinity to one core, then back to all.
The other night though, it started to occasionally tear and Id see quick glitches in the graphics but otherwise smooth playback. Then on an elevator ride on the Normandy, my comp crashed. Got a quick BSOD and then it just shut off. Its not heat since I checked my temps immediately after and it was relatively cool. I should mention, that I was playing this on lowest settings basically.
What I did notice was that although these glitches seemed random and Im sure sometimes it was, there are a few areas where it will always happen. One is the bathroom in the Captains Room, and another is firsting entering the Omega station.
I got fed up with it honestly and just decided to upgrade. So today I quickly took it on a testrun with a E7500 2.93ghz and a Radeon HD4850. Not great, but a pretty large leap from what I had before. The playback is definitely smoother obviously but I what I did do immediately is visit these same locations that was causing the fps drops.
This is where its gets sort of interesting, fps doesnt drop anymore (at least it hasn't yet), but I do see a slight tear in the graphics. Basically, its much more playable but there is still definitely something going on with the game.
I only ran it for about 30 minutes so I can't speak too concretely about how stable it is, but this does seem to be as much of a problem with the game, as it is meetings specs. Im probably going to try and play for a few hours tonight and see how my new setup handles it. Ill try to repirt back if anything goes wrong/crashes.

Amen Brother. I cant play for more then 10 minutes without it crashing, stuttering or putting my head through the wall while being raised 4 feet off the ground, amd stuck there. I am also unable to execute the Bartender quest. That is how far I have gotten. You can't Esc from it and Alt Tab won't doanything. So i had to turn off my PC by hand 3 times. I am F5-ing almost every 5 minutes so the game doesn't start me back at the beginning of the quest I was on.
The game is broken, as the link zulu21 shows - in great detail. When you ftgure this board as represenative of all those with problems in their games that don't post here for one reason or another, you must assume that we are not just a splinter group of ME2 bashers. Nothing could be further from the truth, I just don't think ME2 should have been released with these antique gaming problems.
Game:
DVD Boxed Retail Collectors Edition
System:
Dell XPS 730
Windows Vista Ultimate S.P. 2 32 Bit
Intel Core 2 Extreme CPU X 9970 Overclocked
Water and Air Cooled
3.20 GHz 3.20 GHz
4 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GX2
Creative XBS-FI
I think that's it.
It's proven to me that it can handle everything I throw at it, including Adobe Suite CS3 Web Premium, working and turning 600 dpi images in Photoshop no problems.
We need a serious Patch ASAP.

Well... I'm speaking up for the people who aren't able to interact with usable/interactive objects/people. When you approach something/someone, the reticle highlights with an orange square but if you get close enough to it, it should turn blue. However, for many of us experiencing this problem don't get that blue square unless we use various work-arounds which can be pretty tedious and cumbersome for players who just want to get through the game smoothly. Some of us just stuck while some just randomly lose the ability to interact! It's vexatious... really.

This game is not up to the standards I have always expected from Bioware. I dont understand Biowares silence either this isnt like them not to have an update to the players out by now. I really dont understand how these issues werent caught sooner!!!!

This isn't my first time with a game that crashes (all games will on occassion). But it is my first time with a dozen crashes within the hour. It's so bad, I've stopped playing.
My computer should have no issues at all:
standard retail DVD game
Vista 64 bit SP1
6 gig ram
GeForce GTX 260 (core 216) driver 196.21
I7-920 - overclocked to 3.2 with temps in the 45C range
Good clean power, plenty of hard drive space, and plenty of cooling.
So...as the OP said...PATCH NEEDED

For example, EnderZak, your system is pretty powerful, should be no issues there, but you're having "a dozen crashes" - but there are loads of peeps with the same/similar/lesser systems who are playing the game without fault. That surely implies that there's a problem at your end.
A patch? Sure, for issues that are effecting all, or owners of a certain item (say an ATI graphics card or something), but I doubt any company in the world has the facility to address every single issue with every single system.
I feel for those of you who are having issues - particularly game breaking issues - but perhaps before clamouring for a magical patch that will cure all your woes, look at your system first. If you find a common thread connecting the same errors (like they were all manufactured on the same day or something), then is the time to let Bioware know so they can patch it.

EDIT: In response to Dannyboyslim, yeah true, what I'd like to know though is that Bioware is ontop of it, that they are aware on the problem, if it takes some time, fine, but I'd like to know it is atleast in motion, I hate not knowing if im waiting for help, but not knowing if it's coming or not.
Paying full price for a game you cant play kind of blows

Christopher, could you post your system specs? I too have a "not so powerful" 2yr old PC and i'm worried it won't be able to run ME2.
