Which characters are gay? Or bi? I am just curious, so i dont run into the problem, lol

I'm not sure whether to take this as a joke or as bigotry. Either way, as the other forumite replied, Zevran and Leliana are the two 'curious' romance options in the game--and both make for very interesting romances, in my opinion.

Believe it or not some people dislike getting this sort of thing shoved down our throats and find it repulsive.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA  Sorry....but you could have worded that a little better haha

You have to have sex with Zevran with a male character to unlock the best armor in the game but it's your loss...

What is this, DA:O:LDS? Just accept the fact that people different from you exist. There, solved.

Or you could try finding a mod that adds a "murderknife" option to conversations whenever an NPC hits on you. I'm sure there's one out there.

Oh God I WANT this. Morrigan's "tis cold in my tent." would earn her a stabbity stab death every time!

As would Zev's '"staring luridly" at my female PCs.

I think it is more fun to play out Zev and Leliana's romances with a same sex character. There is nothing wrong with it, I actullay like the fact bioware considers all options for the player.

I respect and even appreciate this fact. However, broadcasting bigotry, if the OP was (in fact) doing so, is never acceptable. This has nothing to do with my personal beliefs on the matter--as you will notice, I didn't rally them in my response--but rather on the importance of circumspection when socializing through a medium that far-reaches many people.

Broadcasting bigotry?
WTF are you on man? I want some of that!

Well, for a female it's rather easy to inadvertently turn the Leliana romance on - several times. I don't mind, it just makes me sad to have to break up with her once again. Such a sad look on her face.....

I'd rather it didn't happen, but not because of bigotry (I adore Leliana -as a friend), but because of the "sigh...., not again!" moment.

Hell, it was easy for me to accidentally turn the Leliana romance on with my male character and it annoyed me a lot. I think I'm just being nice to her, next thing I know, Zevran's telling me I have to choose, and I've lost approval with the Space Cadet bard for staying with the only character I was trying to romance in the first place. Same deal with Morrigan -- all I am is nice to her and give her the gifts marked for her, and then Wynne's lecturing me, no one believes me when I say there's nothing between us, and then lather, rinse, repeat with the choices business. And no, I didn't sleep with either of the girls, just with my stabby elf.

I'm glad that were given some variety as to romance options in this game, but I wish the writers had put up as many warning signs for the male-female romance paths as they did with the gay one.

Exactly the same happened to me and it annoyed me to no end - in short, friendship paths are obviously broken.

First I told Zev I don't swing that way, then never talked to him again. Im not homophobic I just find the thought of it extremely repulsive. I also don't like mushrooms and I don't judge others for eating them, I just prefer putting them off to the side. You just need to look at Dragon Age as a large buffet, it caters to everyones personal taste, its just up to you to decide what you want or dont want on your plate and Bioware allows you to decide in your game if you want to be or not to be gay.As long as there is a choice it shouldn't be a problem.

Wow, you were just giving her gifts and being courteous and she dared to fall in love with you...

It's so immersion breaking.

Zevran isn't that broken, or so I hear. I always play a female PC, and I always romance him, so I wouldn't know from experience. But from what I hear, he will go the 'friend' way if told 'no chance'.

For the straight romance, Alistair also stays at 'friendly' if dumped - usually. His lines to turn on the romance are also not hard to figure out.

Leliana, on the other hand, well, it's easy to turn her on again, and not only once, with choices that seem very friendship-like. It breaks my heart to have to dump her once again. Poor Leliana.

So I agree with TwinCast and Suzene. The friendship path is bugged on some NPC's, and yes, a GL player should have the same warning signs. Fair is fair.

I do give my women friends gifts, and I am usually courteous. I hate being rude for no reason. If that's all it took, I'd be in serious trouble, and so would many straight/gay/bi women. Come on, the dialogue subjects that turn the Leliana romance on are normal for women of all sexual orientations.

Yes, it is, particularly when the romance I actually was pursuing had big "Are you SURE you want to go there?" roadmarks in the dialogue options. Being an attentive leader and giving my crew their designated gifts was SOP, and not all of them take it as a come-on (though I would pay good money to see various NPC reactions to that idea). The assumption that just because an NPC is receptive means that my character is pursuing is, as I said, annoying, particularly when it happens twice in one playthrough. Even an option to respond to Leliana or Morrigain with an obvious "Whoa, I think you have the wrong idea!" before everyone in camp started putting their two cents in would have been nice.

I'm curious exactly how that is improper or worthy of scorn?

broadcast (verb) - to circulate; spread widely; disseminate; or cause to become widely known.

The Oxford Dictionary, known widely as the definitive record of the English language, even includes definitions along the lines of "spread[ing] information," or "circulat[ing] a rumor." As such "broadcasting bigotry" is completely proper (viz. making widely known a person's prejudice).

Perhaps you're incapable of appreciating (for lack of a better phrase) 'poetic license,' or perhaps you're just a ridiculous troll. At either rate, nice try. Have a good one.

It actually is, especially when it's because of borked dialogue trees. :/

Result of a glitch though it may be, it's actually in character for a slightly flaky heart-over-head bi girl.

"We're BFFs, just like sisters!"

followed by

"Hey, we're making out!"

followed by

"Making out? Nothing like that ever happened -- you're imagining things!"

You can't say it's not realistic.

Well, that's a bit true. :) Although there was one scene at the end where I honestly thought  "We've been over this seven times!" but my dialogue options were all relationship-y instead of friendly.

I don't know about Lel, but I do know that Zev isn't borked guy-side.  He just... flirts.  With everyone.  As long as you don't pick a flirty response back he gets the point and stays at "friendly".

Also, as for breaking up with him... he's a bit like Leliana.  It's incredibly easy to get him back into the tent.  I don't think that's because the paths are "broken" for either of them, though.  I view it as part of their character.
