I'd very much like to have the English dub for this game too. Some parts of the German dub are actually pretty good...like the illusive man. But others are just plain awful. I guess German dub studios don't take games serious enough to actually give a dang. And it is true that we were all told from all sorts of game mags that the English dub would be made available for download. So here's hoping that it'll happen.

I am really really really upset now! Customers who asked EA via email get the answer that there are no such plans to offer the English language to German customers. A while ago we were told there will be such a DLC. And now? I am so tired of publishers who spread lies in order to earn money and then show the buyer what they are to the industry. A battery or something. Like in the case with EPIC this is the second time I really doubt what will become of our hobby. If the German version would be as good as the in ME 1. But no: two times I reconcnized that the same person lend his voice to two different characters (the guy who gives Doug of King of Queens his voice now speaks for a Krogan...guess how that sounds!). I just want to f***ing know if I can sell the German version again (C.E.) and hope to get a UK version (C.E.). If I knew earlier that EA would just lie to us I would have ordered from England directly. But now the C.E. is out of stock. Does someone know if it will be restocked? However: please do not let this thread disappear....keep it alive, though nobody will give a sh**. ....A frustrated fan...

keep cool. There will be no official Statement. EA/Bioware will finish this like Gearbox. They are going to sit it out. This how it is done in these days. Spread Bull*** get free publicity and the tell very silently "well we made a mistake". Some people are upset, but a lot of them is buying the UK Version as well. So why should the change anything? They sell the double amout of Games to the People who are upset. Perfect Marketing world isn´t it? Nearly nobody hits them there were it counts (money) and if you do, you branded as "Weltverbesserer". So truly we deserve to be handled that way. Because we are unable and unwilling to do the neccesary steps to prevent it, because it would ruin our Hobby. Great isn´t it? The Industry has made us this way, and we let it happen. Nothing is gonna change! But belive me, it going to get worse!

I assume the Gearbox issue is, that the DLC will only work with the USK-version, am I right?

That is right, but they sit it out. There never was something "official", same as here.

That's the major reason I'm not interested in the game. The DLC looks like a lof fun, espcially the 3rd pack they announced, but no way in hell am I going to pay for the German version. X(

If the situation of different Dubs in games is somewhat similar to movies on DVD, than there could be a dozen conflicts about licenses and copyrights. On DVDs for example you're not always getting the original audio track with the possibility to hide the subtitles, because the Publisher wasn't able the get the appropriate license. It seems to be a very nontransparent process.
Maybe that's the case in the game industry too, so don't be too quick to condemn Bioware or even EA.
I always buy my games in the UK, to avoid any issues with dubbing.

that must be it why pc-people get the english track... because there are licence-problems to offer it to german people...

You know, it would be great to at least get an official statement if the audio files are released or not. Give us some confirmation !

It's really bad because I'm thinking of buying the UK-version and selling my CE, but then again I want to wait for the files.

The wait is killing me. Yes or no, that's all I'm asking for.

Well, maybe you should consider that we are talking about Xbox Live and Microsoft. Big difference in the legal situation. Besides I was just speculating. There is no reason to be such a smartass

Just think of the bitter fact... You know what this reminds me of? The Tobacco Industry. They have a legal drug with high likelihood of addiction. Meaning, they can just **** us, however they like, because for us there is almost no way around.
As long as i have a least bit of decency, i would rather sell Crack to blind kids, than working for Bioware.

Yes, an official statement for the CUSTOMERS (yes, we are EA Customers, don't know if EA knows this...) would be very good. But I think the motto here is: A shut mouth catches no flies... isn't it EA?

As I said: A shut mouth catches no flies... or shut the stable door when the horse has bolted is fine as well...

I love phrases :D

Oh my... I just installed the game, full of anticipation, and the moment the illusive man opens his mouth and speaks I had the urge to smash my monitor..

It´s not like I don´t appreciate them making a localisation, it´s the fact that I played Mass Effect 1 in English. To play part 2 in german just feels so very, very wrong.

I sincerely hope that we can get the english language files from Bioware/EA.

Enough is enough. I am selling the crappy german version. Imported the uk-version and guess what. The case is for two discs...hey. Not the cheap german case were the second disc comes in a thin plastic foil.

The second disc in a thin plastic foil? What a bad joke is that EA?!

I heard about the rumors with a eng DLC-file but I couldn't find any solid facts in the web. So I bought straight the UK-version cause I played ME in eng after I heard the horrible german dub while a friend played the game. What should I say? The original voiceovers are great and totally a pro to the super atmosphere in ME2.

So EA/BioWare please do your fans a favor and release this important eng DLC-files for the other countries.
And to the eng synchro team. You guys done a very good job, please continue your work in ME3. ;)

Still no new Facts? Thts so xxxxx!

As i heard many Europe Customers want the English Voiceover for their Version of ME! So i´ts not a German Problem and EA does nothing at all. For me it is still a bad thing that Bioware belongs to EA, as i said it when i first Read something about that: It was the baddest thing ever happend to the Gamin Industry! I bet in Three years Bioware ist History like Westwood.

it can't be in EA's interest that people buy the UK version of the game, since they want to sell the German version as well. So it would only make sense to release the English dub, that way you keep people from buying the UK version and the folks at EA Germany are happy campers.
