So if you choose to continue and explore the galaxy. Can you use that character for an import after your done exploring or do you have to choose to import it at the end of the game?

I think you import Shepherd as Shepherd is at the conclusion of the "final" mission. That said, I think ME import is pointless. Better to import ME1 again and get the bonuses.

EDIT: Actually, now that I tink about it, when you do the ME3 import, you choose a save point to "load", so maybe that's what it's about.

hmm. So maybe for the shep that I'll be taking to ME3 I should choose to continue after I beat the game and just explore every nook in the galaxy instead of choosing to import it to another playthrough

I think that will be my choice as well. After beating ME1, I restarted at my finishing level but never went all the way through it. Oh well.

i agree unleash like me and want to get some achivments like no one left behind or something like that thats what am doing cuz i kno i wont get that achivment in first playthough but i can in second and in second i can undo some of mu horrible mistakes
