I think that's on purpose - it looks like they're doing it over areas that are brightly colored, that the subtitles would blend into otherwise.

I have seen that in my game as well.

If it's what I think you mean, the background goes black when the subtitle text is written over something that is white so you can read it properly. If that's what you are referring to, I think it is intended

I don't really think that's a feature guys. If so - it looks pretty ugly.

I work in the industry myself and would be pretty suprised if they 'worked' this up.

I've also seen this, pretty annoying if you ask me. Don't think its intended since this "glitch" sometimes only covers some words in a sentence more or less depending on how long the subtitle length is. Also had it happen when the camera stands still and there wasn't previously a black line behind it

I get it too, it seems random to me, but I'm not even sure if it's a big enough glitch to bother patching. Maybe as part of a larger patch.

I'm so glad I'm not crazy. I just got ME2 last night and played for about an hour. I was seeing this too and my gut tells me it's a glitch. I was hoping it was intentional, as people are hypothesizing, to make text more readable against a light background, but I didn't experience it enough to come to a conclusion. Has anyone monitored this issue to determine if that seems to be the case?



I can live with it if I have to, as long as it doesn't cause problems, and/or if it's intentional, but it is really distracting.
