After ME3/KOTOR MMO/DA: expansions

What is next for them? Would you like them to create another original game if so what theme would you base it on? or would you want them to continue a saga from their older games like, Jade Empire?

After seeing, Red Dead Redemption, I wouldn't mind if bioware made a western RPG, but I don't think i've seen a horror RPG game before it could be interesting.

I am quite sure there will be more to see from the Mass Effect-franchise since they themselves stated that ME is far more expendable than 3 games...just like halo really...we've already seen halo 3:odst and halo: reach coming up...not that I like Halo but just as an example.

About that, didn't bioware say something similar regarding DA?

Other than that I think we'll see a Jade Empire 2 since bioware said that JE is a favourite among them fellas in bioware.

My wish is that they take the same great story telling/production values but make it single player or co-op (at least up to 4). I know there is someone somewhere in this company that thinks that co-op is a big risk but if done right and these people can do it right, it would be huge. A cross between MMOs where the story gets watered down and single player RPGs, where it is always up to one person (controlling some AI).

I'd like to see them continue or current IP's or expand out of them within the same universe.

From Mass Effect 1 to 2, they clearly know more than one note than just banging the same thing out over and over again.

I was kinda hoping somebody would take up my idea of an old school Private Investigator style story (You know the ones, they always start off with a dame and a case that the P.I cant resist) set in a furturistic cyber punk world, but alas no takers.

I would like to see them make the spiritual successor to Neverwinter Nights, including the same easy to use toolset, and multiplayer done in exactly the same way, including something like a dungeon master as well.

A completely medieval world without any fantasy elements would also be great, based on medieval europe and kind of a what if scenario. Start the game with a change in history and work from there.

Like for example the Normans losing at Hastings, the Templars not getting prosecuted, Salladin getting assasinated, The Viking nations refusing christianity, etc.

And a medieval world would also allow a small group of mercenaries/adventurers to take on tasks. It simply wont be slaying monsters but they could hunt down bandits, protect merchants, sneak into a castle, escort pilgrims, etc.

Other than the all but given games set in Mass Effect or Dragon Age's universe... I would like to see a sequel to Jade Empire. I would also like to see a game in modern times. Not necessarily in the vein of Alpha Protocol though. I was thinking more along the lines of urban fantasy. Something like Bloodlines or the Megaten games in terms of setting style.

Other than that, an RPG with a toolset, multiplayer, and GM client ala Neverwinter Nights. Preferably a game with considerably greater complexity and options than Dragon Age's three classes plus specializations set-up however.

Would urban fantasy be something like shadowrun or is shadowrun considered, Cyberpunk?

I was looking forward to Obsidians Alien RPG, since it is now canceled I would love for BioWare to pick it up. Jade Empire 2 is a more realistic future game...

I would consider Shadowrun cyberpunk, yes. I wouldn't mind a BioWare cyberpunk game either, come to think of it. Steampunk could work too. :P

It's a rather widely defined genre, but the Urban Fantasy I was thinking of is the most common type: a story set in modern times that primarily takes place in a city and may or may not include supernatural elements.

I really want to see them take a stab at some type of, horror rpg, something like Kult
http://www.rpg.net/r.../13/13361.phtml

"Kult: Beyond the Veil is a 304 page Rorschach blot, a game so cryptic
and so vast that it can be almost anything you want it to be. Like
Nietzche’s Abyss, when you stare into the book, you get the
uncomfortable feeling it’s staring back into you. If you want Kult to
be a game about paranormal investigators struggling against
supernatural forces, it is. If you want it to be about cultists and
sorcerers delving into dark secrets to turn themselves into gods, the
game is happy to oblige. Or how about a game in which the players are
monsters struggling against their own dark urges? Kult will be that
too. It will be traditional Gothic, it will be brooding psychological
horror, it will be post-modern Clive Barker hideousness. Like
Mephistopheles it will give you anything you want just so long as you
turn yourself over to it. “Play me,” it whispers. “I dare you."

I doubt something like that would be made but it would be cool.

I would love it if they make an action rpg set during the French Revolution, where the PC can be a revolutionary agent. There is so much happening at the time, so many characters to explore (Maximilien Robespierre, Danton, Napoleon at Toulon, even Vidoq as a 17-18 year old thief), so many factions to side with (Like the Jacobins or the Girondins). Many themes to explore (democracy, egalitarianism, terror, violence, fanaticism).

IT could be set from 1788-89 to 1794, at the thermidorian reaction. Of course, the game could offer alternate endings. Like helping Robespierre instead of siding with the reaction.

I'm always into steampunk stuff. So a mixture of future/Victorian and steampunk.

Or a Stargate Sg1 Game.... that got dropped... that would be a dream if someone brought that out!

I would like it if Bioware would coöperate with other companies to allow characters from Bioware games to make a guest appearance in other games.

If there is ever going to be star wars game based on lightsaber duels, characters like Revan, Bastilla and Malak need to be a part of it.

And many Jade Empire characters seem very suitable for a guest appearance in a future Soul Calibur title. Death's Hand, Monk Zeng, Sun-Li, Black Wirlwind and many others would fit in perfectly. Would also be quite original to have western made eastern characters in an eastern game.

Seeing how Bioware is connected to EA now, EA does not need to be the only one taking advantage of this.

Through EA Bioware could have acces to the licenses EA holds such as Lord of the Rings and Dungeon Keeper.

Surely they would be able to do something good with that?

I'm hoping for a Jade Empire sequel or revamp, or something. Return of Wu The Lotus Blossom. That would be incredible !!

*thinks about it* well we got Dragon Age in november 2009, Mass Effect 2 in January 2010 and will get Dragon Age expansion in march 2010. With awesome powers of deduction i have come to the conclusion that we will get a ME2 expansion in may 2010! :D

Well Bioware could very well make a Jade Empire 2, but now that it was mentioned a steampunk franchise from bioware would be pretty cool. I definitely want them to work on their own IPs.

@monkeychimptits

while the SG1 game from way back (didn't even remember it) was cancelled, there is a game being released in february (though at least graphically it looks disappointing). and then we are still all waiting for the MMO to be finished

Probably PS3 versions of Mass Effect games.

I hope they announce something new, like new franchise. Not saying their current franchises are bad, but it would be nice to see something else than the same "gather group of weirdos, do some sidequests, save the world" in GenericFantasySettingTM. Action RPG game mechanics would be welcome though.

That said, I would not mind turn based NDS/XBLA/PSN Mass Effect spin-off.
