Hay I'm itching to become a blood mage.

Tell me, has anyone gotten far enough ahead of me to say how you get it? I'm normally against spoilers but this is just too awesome to pass up  Thank you

I got it after a quest in Redcliffe. I've also found books that have specializations you can buy, although I've never seen the Bloodmage book, I did come across the Spirit Healers book.

You can learn the specialization during Redcliffe Fade quest line..just talk to the desire demon. Do save before you do though incase you regret it, there are consequences to becoming one.

if you have the warden's upgrade, you can drink a vial of something in the mage tower there and it gives you blood capabilities. i'm a ranger and i now have 2 blood capabilities..

I assume those are the "Power of Bloood" DLC only spells I saw in the guidebook. Did you have to spend points to get them, or are they freebies?

they are freebies.

which i kind alike.

cause i didnt want my arcane warrior to be a blood mage but those skills fit my character nicely since im wearing the blood dragon armor on my mage.

So the only way to become a Blood mage is to talk to the Desire Demon keeping Connor hostage? If I decided to kill her, I'm done for?

Well, at first I chose to let her live and I guess I learned the skill. but after I let her live I rolled back a save and then killed her since I didn't like my choice. I retained the skill however, I'm just learning this 5 hours later. >.<

pretty much. afaik that's the only place to learn it.
