Why no little Asari Shepard running around Liara's office?  I remember Liara's eyes going black, so I assumed they were "melding".  Didn't work or what?  Kid with the nanny?

No one said she ever got pregnant... and even if she did, it'd probably take far longer than 2 years for the baby to be born, due to their long lifespan

Well, I assumed that melding = prego Asari. They never really said anything about how long it takes for Asari to give birth after "conception", but it's possible it takes awhile. Still, after 2 years she should show a little, right?  Maybe a little tummy rub from Shepard?

lol oh please no, at first i think that was a great idea but since she have changed and i always preffered tali, well....lets just say that in ME1 she was my love interest and having a kid while i am with tali will cause....problems haha, maybe in ME3 u can have a option who knows, just like they did in *SPOILER* DA:O

Basically as I see it, there's an extra component that has to be activated. Just how I interpret it though.

Melding, I thought, was the reproductive process, not the mind-reading process.  Liara says she's never melded before, even after looking at Shepard's Prothean visions.  It seemed to me, that the romance was going to lead to Liara's first melding experience.  I imagine they could have just got it on without her eyes going black, which I take as a sign that she's making the connection.

I think the melding was the sex act and not the black eye parts cuse if you nicice her eyes where normal threw the cut sceen

If that were true, Liara would have had a whole litter of kids, considering how many times she melded with Shepard just to interpret the pre-Collector Prothean visions. Simply melding with someone does not get an Asari pregnant, I'm sure.
