Hi everyone,

I had RtO as available content. But I have a problem. I managed to download it, but can't get it installed. When I'm trying to install it, always getting a "failed" message after extracting this dlc on downloadable content screen. My game is patched (ver. 1.02). This is annoying. Why is this so hard? Any ideas?

I am very dissappointed. How difficult installing this DLC could be? 

Little progress so far. I managed to achieve this:

I installed RtO OFFER through updater as suggested above. Then I loaded my Epilogue save and started  "A King's Confidant" quest. I chose the 1st option in this quest (Download Content - Attempt to revive Elric). But installation failed again both in-game Journal section and Downloadable Content Menu.

I already spent couple of hours for this. This is frustrating.

Any help? or ideas?

Tried pretty much everything, but getting those 2 downloads you linked then un-hiding my file extensions finally got the job done.

... This is intolerable!
It's downloaded & installed, my 400 points have been taken and my profile on this very site shows RtO as a registered game promotion but I still cannot play.
RtO is in my installed tab with "(unauthorized)" next to it and also in the available tab, presumably demanding another 400 points!

Right now, I'm really not thinking any of this was worth the aggro.

by the way, after all this waiting, I thought that Bioware would have solved these stupid DLC problems. you know without the fan base helping each other, this game would be unplayable; shame on the devs.

Not even a mention of the PS3 version in this announcement? Didn't they say it would take until next week to test the PC version and they release it a few hours later? They could at least update the PS3 release date to "whenever we feel like it". This is pathetic and the excuse of "testing" doesn't make sense anymore considering they magically did a week's worth of testing for the PC release in a few hours. I wish Bioware would just admit that they are under contract to not release the PS3 version until later and stop screwing people around.

I'm on PC - and I don't see anything at all concerning RtO on any of my download areas. Not in the game, not on the Website, nowhere. It's now Jan 30th =/

You know it´s not all biowares fault.  If I remember  correctly PS network updates every thursday and only then, and it costs the developer/publisher to keep their stuff there where on PC and Xbox live it dosen´t. So there has to be made a contract to publish the content, a time line when to publish it, sony checks the content, and then it gets release eventually.

On live microsoft checks the content and straight away they publish it on live any day of the week. On pc it depend´s on bioware all the way. So take your criticsm to Sony and their network service

Isn't there a way to get it autorized !??

I take it by the topic, people have the same situation I do. I can't get to the dlc at all on the website, or through the game itself. So anyone have any suggestions why it isn't showing up under the dlc tab of this site or in my game?

same here - tried a few of the tricks mentioned earlier in this thread (but not the manual download, this leads to the "not authorised" problem I guess) - nothing changed so far.

Nope I don't. But I did log out and log in again, didn't change anything. I noticed that it sometimes says I have timed out when trying to reach server, maybe that's it. Still wierd though since everything seems to work fine with internet otherwise. Maye it's because I've locked autodowloading offers or something.

maybe you should give it a rest then it's not an online game so you wont miss anything it will wait for you ^^ Go and have fun with ME2 Instead and Gl with the problem i'm sure it will fix in time.

I was gonna play ME2 now, but I would like to make sure RtO is working for me first. Is there some way to remove RtO and then download it again?

you can reinstall the game but make sure you go and Copy your Save files! Also other then that i guess you can look on the Repair tools. However Reinstalling is the best choice takes short time and if you have copyed the save files no problems will happen to the data. This can be found in documents, bioware,dragon age folder.

Try logging out, closing out of the game then opening the game and logging in. That's what I had to do to get the DLC to pull up for me lol

BIOWARE - I loved the DLC. It was a fantastic edition to the game - thank you so much for working so hard to get it out for us, I know with all of the griping that people have been doing, it must have been difficult.

Well aren't I special today.

I kept restarting over & over and eventually RtO left my installed tab and is no longer "(unauthorized)".
Went in to a game, and the new location appeared on my map.
*Spoiler* Had the little guard fight, clicked on Elric...

Choosing "leave him be" does nothing at all - cannot click on him again, so no quest and DLC wasted (= reload).
Choosing to revive him gets this chunk o' text:

"New content has finished downloading. This content will be installed the next time you restart the game. You can restart it now or keep playing and restart it later."

As you might expect from the overall RtO experience though, restarting the game has no effect (if I reload & repeat just get the same notifcation again). As with "leave him be", cannot click on Elric again (whether carrying on or after reloading) - the quest just remains static at the "he is lying unconscious and bleeding stage".

For the extra kicker, each time I check on DLC RtO reappears in available requesting another purchase, till I refresh my wallet a few times and it disappears (along with the unauthorized label in my installation tab).

Calling it quits for the weekend - hope Bioware can fix it next week.
Thanks again to all the forum folks who enabled me to get this far though.

I have started the DA:O Updater, started it, and wait for several minutes. However, RTO is still not shown in the "Available Content" tab.



Then I go to "\\Documents and Settings\\All Users\\Application Data\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\DAUpdater\\Data" and see there is a file called "DAO_PRC_OCP_1_1.1.dazip" with around 17MB exist over there. I install the file using DAUpdater manually, then I can see it inside the "Available Content" tab. Now I can purchase and download it successfully.



Hope this can help if all of you have received similar problem as me.

Same problem here too. Purchased RtO, started dowlnoading, server error, previously purchased content unauthorized and all went back in the available tab.

Conslusion: money gone, content gone... Nice job boys... thx...

just finished RtO 3 times. it was an "okay" DLC. too short.



needs Alistair, Wynne and Dog for party banter. Sten didnt talk the whole time lol.

Start -> Run -> services.msc

Check service:

Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater

If it`s not running, simply run it manualy.

Thank you so much! I did everything I could think of, but still no RtO for me. Checked the services, found mine to be running, so I've just restarted it and RtO was there the very next second.
