OMG NO DLC. I NEVER BUY UR GAMES AGAIN.

Bioware makes good games, and because they fail to deliver a buggy one-hour DLC, to a game, you will now boycott them? Lots of good that'll do :P You miss out on awesome games, and eventually some of us get RTO and Awakening :D

Thats not the point, the point is they show little respect for us ps3 users we pay the same money and deserve the same apreciation they show xbox and pc.Image IPB

Every moment RTO isn't out they lose fans, and money. If they could get it out right now, they would. However it seems it's not that simple.

All us PS3 user ask for is infomation. They were very quick to keep the Xbox and PC user up to date with what was going on, But seems the PS3 cant get the same love. The other systems were given a date or at the least a "expecting to be out mid to late Jan" PS3 get a " some time later'>>> Oh gee well thanks for the update, good to know

Wouldn’t it be nice: having a rep take two min. out of their day to let the ps3 users know what’s going on with the dlc. It has bugs, they forgot a code sequence, Alistair’s head was swapped for that of a chickens, something to let us know what’s going on with the product. There is a willing market (all be it shrinking reading some of the posts) for the dlc, and I think we would all feel a little better having some info on what the deal is.

I agree DarthJake88, a quick update from those that are working on it, or organizing it would be great, especially since the pc and xbox360 have had posts about game updates etc, but I am not going to hold my breath. They might put one up when Awakening comes out. Fingers crossed.

fangedwolf I’d hate to admit it, but at the rate they seem to be going I think they would put one up FOR Awakening instead of RtO for ps3 lol. And its a real shame too. I mean we still have to discuss (rage/vent/flame/troll/ what ever else we want to call it these days) on a thread for the pc announcement. However I am keeping my fingers crossed that we will see RtO before Awakening hits. Call me optimistic if you must, but I would hate to have it added to the disc/download of Awakening instead of its own dlc.

There's more to it than that.  Return to Ostagar is technically the first ACTUAL DLC for Dragon Age from Bioware.  The other two are simply content that was cut out from the original game for the sole purpose of conning players to pay extra for stuff that should've been in the original game itself and to discourage pirating the game.

Considering Bioware's promise of 2 years of DLC, the 3+ months it took for just the VERY FIRST dlc of only a mere 60 minutes represents nothing less than a monumental failure of unparalleled proportions and kills off any faith in their future products.

It's because of all this and more that I cancelled my reserved copy of Mass Effect 2 and will not touch it with a 10-foot stick until 6 months have passed and all evidence points that it lives up to its hype and gets "up there" with Final Fantasy 7 and the Halo series.

Realy this sucks big, I mean realy would be nice to see RtO before awaking, it would be nice if bioware would could make it so you could buy it from them and put in a code to get it from PSN, if they are not going to put it up. Blah it is so stupid

I doubt they would do that, not when they can make money from selling it seperately.  I think the only time that dlc will come out on disc or mass download is perhaps in a years time when dragon age 2 is out, and this one is repackaged in a platinum/game of the year/etc etc edition that has all the bells and whistles on it, all the dlc, interviews and artwork etc.  I wouldn't think that would come out for at least a year though, or after, when it is more cost effective for them to sell it as a bundle rather than in small dlc because when a game is older, less people will want to pay for dlc but may spend more for a bundle of everything.  Still, it would be a long way off yet.

A little communication goes a long way BioWare. How about coming clean and telling the PS3 users something before it's too late and you alienate an entire platform you were "excited" to be making games for? For some it may be too little too late. For others it may be just enough to be willing to trust your company again. Every day that you delay telling PS3 users anything is another day you errode not just your existing customer base in this platform, but any future customers as well. It's infuriatingly disrespectful to tell us nothing. One has to assume that the telephone transcript is accurate as you say nothing to refute it. DAO is a wonderful game, but it may be my last BioWare game if you dont take a few moments to trouble yoursylph with letting us know something. Sad that we have to hijack the PC thread to try and get your attention. That in itsylph speaks poorly to how you value us as a customer base.

To the people who think/feel it's over-reacting to say we won't buy any more BioWare products due to one small DLC's delay, you fail to realize that its how PS3 users are being treated that has us this angry, not that other people have toys we cant play with. As PS3 users we have come to accept that and as such are all the more willing to do without. Imagine it is your platform being disrespected with utter silence and even worse deception? Would you not use the one and only leverage you have to express your dissatisfaction with the way you were treated? My post means little, but my money does mean something. If Awakenings comes out before an official public statement as to what happened, why it happened and what BioWare is doing to assure this never happens again, then I will not be purchasing any more BioWare products. <edit> And, just so its clear: By never happens again, I mean the utter lack of communication on this company's part to its PS3 customers. <end otherwise unedited unproofed rant>

I agree with xxSylphxx : the point is lack of communications not really the lack of RtO, anyway I think that if there is a bug or a technical problem I prefer to wait and have a better tested and fixed product but as I already said they should tell us.

Regarding the fact that they should include RtO in bundle with Awakening : for me it's not a bad idea but :

- It should be only for PS3 version

- PS3 version should cost like other platforms

This is a kind of payback for making PS3 users wait without knowing anything, but to be more realistic I really don't think that this should happen.

This is for all the pc and xbox users shut the f*** up you have no idea what its like to be a ps3 owner, we have to wait for months even years to see dlc for multiplatform games. Example grand theft auto 4, fallout 3, modern warfare 2, and dragon age, all because they say its to difficult to design games for, or microsoft shells out millions of dollars to have exclusive content a few months.

One would think so. One would also think that a company would inform its customers about whats going on with their products. As of yet that has not happend. It would make more sence(and more money) to have them seperate but it seems Bioware dosnt like to do things that make alot of sence these days. Still the power of money will most likely prival and we will see RtO before Awakining (hopefully before)

over 900 posts in this thread

i wildly guess 50% of them are PS3 users to ask for information and telling theyr unhappyness about what happens to them and RTO

that makes 450 costumers * 40 buks (awakening) = 18.000 buks

let a normal dev earn like 2000 buks a month then with only those 40 little ppl bioware could pay one single dev out for over a year

adding the 5 buks from RTO PS3 version of course *450 = 2250 buks

adds in total over 20.000 buks bioware would have earned from the ppl they dissapointed now couse of being silent and "maybe (nobody knows for sure) lied to them and shrugged them away to never buy something they have produced

simple math maybe it gives some thinking about what happens here

if i would get 20.000 buks for 1 honest post / day in a simple forum ....

LOLZ!

I guess you are supporting the wrong platform then huh?

According to the devs the update has been ready to go for a while.  It's your beloved SONY and it's super long testing process that is holding things up now.  Don't blame Bioware.

I can't believe that Im defending these guys but....Bioware has been working with MS for what years now as PS3 gamers some of you didn't know or care that this platform is new to them. That doesn't excuse in any way the lack of comm. from them but with their in house dev. im sure they were happy about expanded to the ps3 and bringing us dragon age. But don't you think their loyalties still stay with MS. The point is the ps3 is a different design and it will take them time to get better at timing events. I ripped them a good one for working on the xbox version first knowing that it would take a lot longer to finish the ps3 version and do certification. As ps3 users we will never get anything before xbox because thats what they do people that's what they are comfortable with working with and it's doubled by the way sony does certification so....This is just the price we have to pay now it sucks yes butthey did try to bring their work to the ps3 otherwise you wouldn't be mad at them now because it wouldn't be available to us. I don't see anyway to keep this from happening again sorry but meanmaybe in the future they will just show us a little more respect.

I do everything much as you have done here in terms of simple math.  It helps me to make since of things.  The one thing you forgot to add in to your equation however is the pre order copies of mass effect 2 that have already been cancelled like mine and in my case will not be purchased at all.  The major issue is that 400 of those 450 people will still buy all of these things (awakening, RTO, and ME2) and Bioware knows that and thats why they did this.  This is the real reason Bioware has acted the way they have.  They know that in the end when everyone is done ranting they are still gonna get paid by the majority of these same people flaming them on this thread and on other sites.  Another poster said it best the only power we have in this relationship with Bioware is the power of the dollar however as we are for the most part addicted to what they are selling the real power is in their hands and they probably get off on it.  I am sure more than a few of the guys at this company did some in the locker time in highschool and now they are the masters of this universe and they are letting us know it.

@phosphorus213

yeah sadly your right but honestly im going to buy rto awakening and the rest (not ME2 since its not for ps3 tho) couse i wanna play it i like the game and the story it is sad they arent that nice to ps3 owners but that doesnt really keep me from buying theyr games

if you think about dragon age has sell'd 3,2 million copys * 65 (euro, ususal price for ps3 games +-5 bucks) they have earned around 20 million euro just for one game of course they dont really care about peanuts of ridiculous 20k more or less (no guarantee if this math is right since im a lil ill atm and cant think XD but you know what i wanna say with it)

but as i said if i would get 20k only for putting a simple post/day for a timeline of lets say 3 months ... i would be an idiot to not do it

the severe lack of communication is kind of sad really. I think the last time someone actually responded to a post anything PS3 related (someone from bioware responded) was a couple weeks ago. At that time it was stated that Sony was the delay. Amazingly enough, other games with multi-platform content do not have such delays, that puts it back on Bioware. At this rate Awakening would need to have been submitted to Sony already to meet their release date. I highly doubt that is the case.

I have since sold my copy back to EB, power traded it to them for 60$ towards a new game. Dragon age was good, but when you buy a game that has DLC slated to be released within a few days of your purchase, you should not still be waiting for that same content well over a month later. That content being released so soon was part of the value the game had, at least to me.
