Sometimes the game is VERY aggressive in it's LOD setting. Even when looking right at your avatar from 2 feet away the geometry flickers like crazy, showing all kinds of clipping, as if it's aggressively trying to downscale the amount of polygons on the model. Eyes are sticking through the face, the skull is sticking through the hair mesh. Sometimes the game even tries culling the scenery you're looking at. This was very bad on the Citadel, during the conversation with Andersen, where the Presidium backdrop flickered black a few times as if it wasn't even there.

I'm thinking that the game is way too aggressive as far as 'optimizing' is concerned, taking a very console-ish approach. Are there any settings in any of the .ini files i should look at? I have no clue which one i should be editing, there's a gazillion of them...

Where are the days of a single unreal.ini to tune your game :(

GTX260 c216, running on XP. Since i had that problem the lodding issue didn't come up again, but the very aggressive culling does pop up still, for example when leaving Afterlife through the front door. The firey hallway doesn't show up untill a second after you open the door from the inside.
