I didn't feel like it was a waste at all. It took me about an hour and a half running around every inch of map to check for the occasional semi-hidden chest; despite them rarely having great stuff, I like exploring and finding them. Also if you think the items aren't any good, if you have "Warden's Keep" DLC, you can use the little glitch/bug where you sell ---small spoiler--- Cailan's Armor and Maric's Blade to Levi's brother, exit that chat, talk to him again, then depending on your level I think, you can buy it back and it's up to tier 7 (dragonbone).

Well I got RTO and the items you get are nowhere as good as the stuff you get later on in the game, also its very very weak, I cannot believe there was soo many issues getting this DLC out.

Its extremely short, items you find are worthless and its not exciting at all just boring *sigh* I have paid for far better content which has also cost 400msp some content far better and for FREE.

I think 250msp is far more reasonable for this content oh well I guess I paid 400msp for a 25g achievemant...

Exactly what were you expecting for little more than the price of a pint ?

I liked it quite a bit actually. If you take the time and search every corner and pay attention to every detail, you can spend well over an hour in it. But who cares about the amount of time, seriously. It was really cool. Only thing that was a tad awkward/noticeable was the 3rd companion sitting around silent. I found that really hard to ignore.

I didn't have that problem because I brought Alistair, Wynne and Dog. He was a survivor of Ostagar after all.

How can I play this with a character that I beat the game with? I never played any DLC with him so I do not know what to do. All that I can see to go to is Wardens Keep and Shale's village other than that, I don't see how i can play RtO with this character. I had no problems with my second character that is not done with the game yet.....

Doesn't the gear scale depending on what stage of the game you do it?

Anyone taking 15 min to complete RtO the first time will never be pleased (with either RtO or any other DLC/expansion). For the life of me I will never understand why some people buy a game and skip the majority of content simply to get to the end game to whine about how the game lacked content. If all you want is uber loot, get the toolset and make it (or download someone else's version of a god mode item)

By their very definition DLC is a rip off. It's 0.2% of a game for 5% of the cost. Everyone knows this and yet they still pay for it, because they can afford it, if you don't know this, then wise up real quick or perhaps get a better job where five dollars isn't breaking your bank and finally stop whining about your ill-advised purchases.

It's not long, but the content is certainly interesting. I think it was worth it, if for the emotional impact alone.

DLC is a fan tax. Relative to other entertainment software it's incredibly overpriced. But the fans are willing to look past that and pay for it.

Now I'm in the camp that would like to see Bioware increase price of the DLC so that they have more money for development. I'm not going to buy it and some of the money is going to be used for substantial development.

Yeah it was short, but like others said in this thread it's more for the story and a sense of finality for parts of it. The only thing I think they should have added was finding Duncan's body too. In an earlier part in the game in a conversation with Allaistar he says he would like to have a funeral for duncan, I think they should have tossed that in there too, but oh well.

Well, I'm still holding out hope that Duncan is alive, but that's unlikely. We didn't actually see him die and there's no body, so I'm going with "alive and can be rescued" until BioWare gives me a reason to think otherwise. ;-)

The next dlc installment will be called, "A warden Rescue".

I downloaded and played it tonight...and I absolutely thought it was worth the price of admission. Since we're in the non-spoiler forum, I won't talk about the actual content, but if you blew through this content in 15 minutes, you missed a whole hella bunch of stuff. I can't even see how you *could* have done this content that fast and still gotten all the pieces you need to have finished the quest...but whatever.

I thought it was a wonderful addition to the story, and allowed for some closure. I almost wish I hadn't killed a certain special someone, just to see what the dialogue trees would have been.

Honestly, everyone ****ed because the content was delayed, and now that it's been out for just a few hours, people are already ****ing because they didn't get purple sword of death to everything...or whatever they were expecting after months and months of reviews, spoiler threads and announcements about length from the dev crew made it very clear that this was a storyline DLC and not a phat l00ts DLC.

And really...$5.00. Seriously. Gain some perspective for goodness sake.

For $5, I got a lot more entertainment out of RTO than I would most movies at a movie theater (which would charge more like $8-$10). I like RTO, $5 is not much, and I would pay another $5 for another short DLC. I just wonder what is coming next? Are they waiting until after the expansion?

Personally, I could care less about powerful items. You can win the game in veridium armor if you play it right. I prefer DLC to be about stories with impact on the characters and the game world. While I haven't finished yet, this certainly seems to be that. I must say, I don't understand why people get their knickers in such a twist over five dollars. I can't think of anything more entertaing that I could have bought for that price.

I wish I was surprised that the complaining started before I could even finish....

I like RtO, however, I think WK was better.

WK had more story, more conversations while RtO was basically only a dungeon crawl. However, I did like the sense of closure you got from RtO.

The pricing is depending fully on subjective things. Some people feel 400MS points is too much, others think it's fine.

I'm happy with both WK and RtO. Compared to the best DLC out, both RtO and WK comes off a bit more expensive (DLC like Point Lookout, Broken Steel, Lost and the Damned etc), but to me both are well worth the points, especially since I can play them on all my characters.

However, I think it's enough with short DLC's that are mostly dungeon crawlers with some loot, so Im real happy about DA:O:A coming out in march and I hope that the next DLC after that will be something more along the lines of Point Lookout for Fallout3 (ie a big new area, multiple quests, multiple NPC's, multiple dungeons) for 800-1200 MS points.

I like RTO, ran through casually, took an hour or so. Like was said above, I dont know how you can run through it in 15 minutes, and complete it. I would say about 25 or so would be possible. Quitcher****in about the 5 bucks already, this dlc is worth it. BTW the armor is good enough at 20 to replace wades plate that I was wearing, so there.

Im in the "enjoyed" it camp. Especially now that my Warden's Keep chest upgraded my stuff to Tier 7. If you have an Arcane Warrior Duncans Sword is great for Mana Regeneration.

Beware of the internet cheapos. The expansion is great, very emotional, and definitely worth the meager 5 bucks it costs.

You won't even get a full meal at mcdolands for the same price. Let's get real please.

Actually where I live...you can..It is a dollar for a small coke, a dollar for a double cheeseburger, a dollar for a small fry, and I could even get a dollar dessert..with tax it is about 4.25..but that is beyond the point. I believe RTO was worth the 5 bucks, I really liked it.

Despite the wait, I thought it was well worth it. It gave closure to a part of the game which, in my opinion, was needed. It was small and it could have been more fleshed out than what it was, but for the price of a cup of coffee I felt it was money well spent - especially since it helps support Bioware and Dragon Age, both of which I hold in very high regard.

Awakening should be awesome.
