Juts wondering, if we assume the length of RtO is fixed, what would YOU have done differently in the DLC to make it a more enjoyable experience?
Personally (and I don't have it yet but I have seen the videos) I would have made it a bit more difficult and challenging. The fights just look too easy.

They are. I enjoyed it, but I was really hoping the Devs, had gotten over their whole Genlock "grunt" thing. Killing level 1 mobs is not fun, the combat is already too easy without that thrown in too.

It was nice to bring some closure to the events in Ostagar and see that Cailan wasn't eaten by the darkspawn so you could give him a proper "send off". Now, if we could somehow revive Lothering...

Depending on what you bought it for will determine how well you like it. My younger brother complained the same thing when he watched me beat it in like 25 minutes or so with my level 20+ character. But I didn't play or get this for achievements or for some epic journey. I got this for finality. It's for the story of the game. The game feels more complete after having done RtO. Whether you feel that way or not is your own opinion, and you're entitled to it. But putting Cailan up in flames a la Darth Vader in ROTJ felt pretty good. While I do think it's unfortunate that we had to pay extra for this because I think this should have been in the game, it is what it is. And to the gripers about not finding "Duncan's Body". How many other body's do you even find in the game? 90% of the bodies in the game turn to a pile of bones/blood within seconds of you looting the corpse. Is it so inconceivable to think that this happened to Duncan? He's dead people, get used to it, and if you need to see a body to realize he's dead, then you probably think Jimmy Hoffa's still alive too. Although I admit, it would have been nice to have his armor. :-p
Yep you hit the nail on the head. It should have been in the full game. Not because it isn't worth the 5 bucks but because of the content. 3 months later we finally get the closure we deserve. Any emotional impact is lost to anyone who has played through the game once.

The unanswered questions, the missing links to why this or that happened was very good. I did, however, feel the difficulty was way to low, however just switch options and crank it up a notch or two
I am anxiously awaiting "The Awakneing"!

"The gear aint worth it."
Then "The cost per length" saga.
It is simple,,, Buy It or Dont. There are so many threads made by scrooges,, most of us buy it/will buy it because it adds to the STORY, which is what DA:O is,,, Yes,, thats right,, a STORY, and $5 (£3.15p)(E 3.89)(Prices at time of writing) is loose change. And it is replayable,, over and over, character after character.
It's all relative. The actual amount itself is insignificant, it's the value that's exchanged that differs. Value is subjective, what's worth $5 to you may not be worth $5 to another. Also remember the OP is talking using MS points. There are some pretty good full arcade games or DLC for other games for 400MS points.
Personally, I think the wait time more than anything really decreased the RtO's value. If they had released it on time, i wouldn't have felt as unsatisfied by the lack of content. That being said, at least it's not $2 horse armor. What the hell does that even mean??If you want free stuff,, theres plenty of FPS's around that can keep you and your pocket money happy.
And dont even start with this "It's all Relative" lark,, that has been done to death. And if their sooooo concerned about their points,, as I said,, Go play something else,,, it's quite simple,,

You make it sound like his opinion on the value of RtO is ruining your game experience or something. Here's a novel idea for you:
If more people state their dissatisfaction for what they are paying for, maybe Bioware will think to offer more next time they release DLC. Why would you want to stand against that?

I am very grateful that the Devs support these games after release and give us new content to experience beyond what we bought off the shelf, but If you are going to put out DLC and charge for it, no matter how reasonable the price, then all I ask is for the gameplay to at least be interesting and maybe require some problem solving to overcome. At the very least, please have an end boss that might actually pose a challenge and take more then 30 seconds to kill. The last battle really dissappointed me here.

100% agree with Wookie. It is wonderful to see support from the devs. However, waiting months for a quick 10 minute escapade that barely gets your pulse up is bad, (now I know what my date felt like on Prom Night).
I would like to mention that I am very happy that our beloved sissy boy Allaistar got some closure to Cailin's death....seeing him strung up there was oh so very touching.

Let them at it, I'd say. Let them dwell on the smallest things; such as something as small as a game's downloads content. Pretty pathetic really.
I on the otherhand Look forward to it. Regardless how small it is.
I look forward into getting it for PS3.

Would people like to see slightly more content for their dollar? Yes
Are some people happy with RtO? Yes
Are costs relative? Yes
Take the movie comparison. Here in Australia, we pay about $15 to see a movie, which on average lasts about 2 hours. I paid $120 for my Dragon Age Collector's Edition (without a nice tin box/cloth map, i might add), which on my first playthrough lasted me about 75 hours.
So I pay $7.5 per hour of movie, compared to 62.5 cents per hour of Dragon Age. Now say RtO costs about $7 (which it will after international money costs, yawn), and takes me an hour to complete, RtO is still slightly cheaper than the movie per hour of entertainment.
Or I could compare it to say, Modern Warfare 2, which costs around $100 and provides me 5 hours of single player entertainment, and then multiplayer content... oh, wait MW2 multiplayer is basically the same as MW multiplayer so I won't bother... making $20 per hour of 'entertainment'. But I digress.
Everyone wants their dollar to go further, and people are complaining because the amount of money they're paying per hour of gametime for the DLC is significantly lower than that for the original game. That's the way things are - if you don't like, vote with your wallet and don't buy it.
Of course, if you're on PC, you get free user made DLC.

... I could have sworn I was meant to see that darkspawn chop off his head.
Well you saw more than me then, cuz I just saw one running up to him with its axe pulled back then it went white

What about the story that Bioware might want to tell in a particular DLC? Don't they have a right to decide how much content in a give DLC relates to the story they want to tell? Why do people insist that the DLC has to meet the players standards and not Bioware's? I would far rather get a DLC pack that the developers were happy to produce than one that they felt pressured into creating "to please the players".

Yes, I agree, RtO is a bit shallow. Not bad at all, but not as fleshed out as I hoped. Wynne/Alistair had some strange banter, that felt misplaced; but I have to take Loghain there, maybe he has some better lines.
But seriously, someone complaining about the loot in a single player RPG? And stating the pointless achievement for it is it's saving grace? -.-
It adds a little bit of extra story, that's all I care about - and when played at the appropriate level (and not with lvl20+ like I did, sadly the darkspawn don't scale for "highlevel" characters, so no challenge at all) it'll last a while.

A couple of the fights, I ended up with a team member or 2 dead. But no party wipes. Took a couple of hours. The loot looks lovely from this viewpoint. And I can raise it to t7 when I level up later.
For the price, I could've bought a cup of coffee and a cookie - which would've been gone in 10 minutes. And which I couldn't have 10 more people eat and drink. I've got 10 more characters I can run through RtO. Well worth the cost.
I can see why someone with a level 20 character would go 'meh' at the loot, maybe (just maybe). I can't even equip some of it yet - goodies for the future.
