As a matter of fact, it is a forum joke.

A couple months back, before the social site was around, one of the writers of Mass Effect 2, Patrick Weekes (worked on Mordin Solus if I recall correctly, among other things), used to come in and chat with us on the forums. There was this one topic where he made a joke about a hanar named Blasto, who had a heart of platinum and nothing to lose, with "Enkindle This" as his one liner.

The joke was so creative and funny that the forumgoers decided to make a meme out of Blasto.

Early in the ME2 forums people said that there should be Hanar teammate.

and I think it was evil Chris priestly who said (jokingly) that there was a teammate called Blasto, who was a bad-ass Hanar : )
