Make a new silver account, start mass effect 2, fill in the details when it asks you to set up an ea account and set the email to the same email you have in your ea account (the one that couldn't connect to your gamertag).

Go to ea.com check the account, your new gamertag should pop up in the my persona section. Go back to masseffect.com and register the game under your new gamertag. Use the codes (it will tell you they have been inserted) then restart your console. Start the game then go to the extras section ignoring the cerberus crap and you'll be able to download the gear. If you want, set the game to casual then sprint through it until you get to the Normandy and if the gear is in your lockers then the gear will be in your locker for your main account.
