While I liked the game, I definitely didn't like it as much as any of you did. ME1 was much better in my opinion, I felt more immersed in ME1. I didn't feel like there was much stuff to do anywhere, the whole game is very linear and there are not many side side missions that don't relate to the team.
And for all the advertising about how everyone may not come back, it was way too easy to have everyone survive the mission.
(SPOILER ALERT)
Honestly, the decisions you make for who does what job on the collector base are pretty easy, I dunno if they actually affect any outcomes or anything because I only played through one time, but I definitely knew that I was going to survive with everyone. They should have killed at least someone. My own team's choices, the specialist choices, and the leader of the other group were all pretty straightforward decisions.
Also, I would have liked to have talked to people about what I did. I hadn't finished all of Samara's conversations, and at one point I talked to her. First she said I can't believe we did it, blah blah. Then the next thing she says is, you've been a good friend and I hope we survive the collectors. WE JUST DID.
(END SPOILERS)
I also felt like the number of conversations that you could have with each teammate was cut down from ME1. Thane was the character I found most interesting and spoke the most also, but Garrus barely said anything. Zaeed would often tell the same story over, Jacob would always give you the same little chest bump.
I liked the increase in combat, liked the new Paragon / Renegade meter system, loved the upgrade system, disliked decrease in RP, disliked the decrease in unrelated side quests, hated how the game gave me no feeling of being immersed the way tha DA:O, ME1, Oblivion, or even The Witcher gave me. There were zero difficult decisions, all of them were obvious.
I give ME2 an 8.5 / 10, while ME1 would probably get a 9.5 or even a 10.
