You have successfully made me way too excited for Mass Effect 3, and that's years away...

Paragon ending, all crew saved, all teammates lived...

If the improvements from the first game to the second game are this substantial my head is going to explode from the story and the changes in the third game.

Best 45 gaming hours of my life.

I paid $306 to upgrade my computer to play this game (processor and motherboard wouldn't even run the game on minimum), plus an additional $78 for the collectors edition itself.

But it was totally worth it.

It is kind of a bummer to now have to wait until Late 2011...I have to find something to do for two years...

Another 50 - 60 bucks plus DLCs.

Dear lord, Bioware, you are now my crack.

THIS.

Holy crap, I spent 2 days in a row playing this and I'm only now taking a break before I sink back into it.

BioWare's games are like crack (unless it's Sonic Chronicles. LMAO).

While I liked the game, I definitely didn't like it as much as any of you did. ME1 was much better in my opinion, I felt more immersed in ME1. I didn't feel like there was much stuff to do anywhere, the whole game is very linear and there are not many side side missions that don't relate to the team.

And for all the advertising about how everyone may not come back, it was way too easy to have everyone survive the mission.

(SPOILER ALERT)

Honestly, the decisions you make for who does what job on the collector base are pretty easy, I dunno if they actually affect any outcomes or anything because I only played through one time, but I definitely knew that I was going to survive with everyone. They should have killed at least someone. My own team's choices, the specialist choices, and the leader of the other group were all pretty straightforward decisions.

Also, I would have liked to have talked to people about what I did. I hadn't finished all of Samara's conversations, and at one point I talked to her. First she said I can't believe we did it, blah blah. Then the next thing she says is, you've been a good friend and I hope we survive the collectors. WE JUST DID.

(END SPOILERS)

I also felt like the number of conversations that you could have with each teammate was cut down from ME1. Thane was the character I found most interesting and spoke the most also, but Garrus barely said anything. Zaeed would often tell the same story over, Jacob would always give you the same little chest bump.

I liked the increase in combat, liked the new Paragon / Renegade meter system, loved the upgrade system, disliked decrease in RP, disliked the decrease in unrelated side quests, hated how the game gave me no feeling of being immersed the way tha DA:O, ME1, Oblivion, or even The Witcher gave me. There were zero difficult decisions, all of them were obvious.

I give ME2 an 8.5 / 10, while ME1 would probably get a 9.5 or even a 10.

There are very few games which I felt were worth any kind of upgrading.

This was worth the new graphics card.

It's distracting how awesome the ending was. Can't stop thinking about it.

Agreed. ME2 has now taken the place of Final Fantasy VII as my favorite game of all time. I got everything I wanted basically, even with the things that I didn't like about the game. It was still epic and engaging.

I shall anticipate ME3 with equal parts trepidation and enthusiasm. If Garrus and Tali don't return as squad-mates in ME3, I'll be seriously depressed. There's just something completely awesome about having a couple characters that stuck out the whole adventure with you, loyal to the core.

(MAYBE SPOILERS?)How the heck to you come out with everyone alive? Did you use original ME characters or the new recruits. I was afraid of losing any of the originals so I kept them out of the battle any chance I could. Everyone else except Miranda was expendable. However, I would like to know how you did it. I just finished ME2 and explored everything in 36 hours.

ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS I AM HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED> BIOWARE WHAT THE HECK? 2011 for the 3rd one are you kidding me? How am I gonna cope? Can't you do a 6 month thing like they did with the matrix movies....... ACTUALLY! Come to think of it. The Matrix movies sucked after the 1st. Take your time. Just make the finale good and no killing Shepard.... (Again)

OH and if you could tell me how you came out with everyone ALIVE! let me know!

If the Femshep romances didn't suck so bad, I'd agree.

Meh, to be honest romances aren't what I focused on in both games. I only did them to get the achievements. Far as I'm concerned, it's all about story.

I'd also like to extend my profound thanks to BioWare. Mass Effect 1 was the best game I had ever played, but now...I had no idea they could raise the bar this high. Mass Effect 2 gets the new "Best Game Ever" award from me. Thanks again, BioWare.

I can't wait either!!! I don't think it will be a crazy wait though. Bioware knows ME2 is getting good reception, they even said they are starting to work on ME3 (Early Development). They will be pumping out some DLC.... I shouldn't be as long as ME1 to ME2

Prefect example of what to look for! Dragon Age (Another great game) came out had some DLC pushed its way and one Dragon Age Awaking is coming out March 16th with around 30-40hours of expected gameplay!

Now does that mean ME3 will come out in 6 months? I would guess no, but I would expect some DLC that will include 4-5 hours here and there... maybe a large DLC with 10-15? Fingers crossed. But I don't think it would be crazy if we did see ME3 in the near future? I bet by the summer there will be ME3 "bits" popping up, and 2011 I would guess we would see it... And maybe if we all ask nicely I wouldn't mind seeing it 2010 Holiday season :D but that is really hoping XD....

As long as ME3 comes out in a reasonable time un-rushed. I will be happy!

This is the first game I've played where doing a side mission made me excited - and didn't feel like a chore.

Every portion of this game is enjoyable - call me weird, but I even loved doing the scanning.

This. The reunion scene between the ME1 LIs better be IN-FRIKIN-CREDIBLE and that's all I have to say.
