I have no experience with mass effect, the only bioware game I own is dragon age. Having enjoyed dragon age so much I went to get mass effect2, but im confused on a few things.

I get how the paragon/renegade system works, but as far as relationships and loyalty go, im 100% lost. Can anyone please explain these to me, or give me a link to a helpful website?

Just talk to them between missions and do their personal missions when they ask. That is all there is no bar or scale to judge loyalty like in Dragon age.

So there are no really tricky conversations that I have to get just right to start relationships and raise loyalty?

I think in order to start a relationship with some of the crew is to choose the Paragon options. And I think that when they say, "We need to keep personal stuff out of this for now," (at least its something like that) you should disagree. I made that mistake in ME1 with Liara and my Femshep lol. I won't make that mistake with Miranda and my Manshep :)

EDIT: By the way... I could be completely wrong in what I told you, but I don't think I'm completely wrong... just might be sorta wrong :P Hehe. Enjoy ME2!!

Yes, there are tricky conversations you have to get right if you want to start relationships...ok well not tricky, it should be pretty obvious. If youre talking to a romanceable teammate, and you see dialogue options that seem flirty...pursue those and you should be fine.
