I just got on the Destroyed Collector Vessel mission.

I  received my machine gun, am at the part where you find out it was a trap and are on the platforms.

Is it just me or is this thing terrible?  I  can't kill anybody with it and I have had to redo this part of the mission several times and can't get past it.

Don't spray it. Shoot in bursts, MUCH more accurate that way. Don't shoot from extremely long distances. Make sure to upgrade your assault rifle's damage and accuracy.

I went with the Widow because I had a feeling I wouldnt like the Revenant.

Personally. I took the anti-material rifle.



Destroys armor, not to mention a normal human can't fire it without shattering his arm.

I always burst it long distance. But if the targets get close, I set it full auto. I does a hell of a lot of damage espacially with a special ammo equipped.

If you want to learn to burst, use the Vindicator and get used to it. I started a new file and didn't even notice I was using the Avenger. You just get used to tapping RT instead of holding. I honestly think the Avenger might be better than the Vindicator since you can use a constant spray on shields and barriers if you feel the need.

I'm so used to the Revenant now, if you equip it with incendiary or armor piercing rounds, it tears through anything. Just learn to properly use bursts. I don't think even the Vindicator deals more damage than it. It's sad, because once I got it, I rarely used my shotgun or pistol.



From then on, just used the Revenant, sniper rifle, and heavy weapons, hehe.

Yep, exactly. I was a soldier too, now that you mention it, maybe the OP isn't playing a soldier.

Yes I am, just gotta get used to bursting. I've died about 30 times so far on the collector ship you go to.

I am on veteran with thane and jacob. I am a soldier using a LMG, I've been a dozen times by the Praethorian (I don't know if I spelled that right) so far.

If I die one more time I am throwing this game out the window, I have tried everything but it just kills me in 1 second or less. This is so stupid!

Try staying behind cover more often, and utilizing your powers and ammunition types. Cryo ammo and Incendiary Ammo are excellent for dealing with the Collectors.

After all the upgrades i'm shooting this thing like it was the avenger. I can kill a collector being controlled by harbinger from at least 100ft without bursts. idk what your guys problem is.

Thing is amazing, I did my solider hardcore run after my Infiltrator veteran run and found the hardcore run easier. I never ran out of ammo and with incendiary ammo a few burst shots and things just go right down. Per bullet it does much more damage then other rifles and if anything gets in your face I'm convinced it does more damage then the shotgun per second. I didn't like it at first either, its possible its not meant for everyone though.

Just be sure to have the accuracy and damage upgrades and any level 4 ammo. It just utterly rapes everything at mid range or less. I'm partial to tungsten ammo, it's kind of anti-everything with it's sheer damage but with no DoT.

The only real downside once you manage it's recoil is that you'll rarely ever use anything else

Understandable. I like my Shepard to be Space Rambo and just shoot the **** out of everything while in slow motion.
