I am using Pinnacle Game Profiler with a Wireless X-Box 360 Controller. It's the only way I have found to adequately use a Controller with Mass Effect 2

Mine - F
Leave World - V
Control Scheme
Face Buttons (A, X, Y,
A = SPRINT - Hold down A to sprint. A is also used for USE and COVER.

D-Pad
The D-pad covers squad orders & the command hud.

LEFT = Move/Attack Henchman 1
RIGHT = Move/Attack Henchman 2
UP = Command Hud (hold down)
A = Jump

Misc
SHIFT BUTTON = This is assigned to LB, which is basically just for your quickslots as well as quickload/save
QUICK SLOTS - All the quickslots are on shift/d-pad & face buttons, starting with A and going clockwise from there. So, quickslot 1 is shift + A. QS 2 is X, 3 is Y, and 4 is B. Down on the d-pad is QS 5, and go clockwise from there through QS 8.
QUICKSAVE = This is assigned to shift + start key, so hold down LB and press the START button, and it will quicksave.
QUICKLOAD = This is assigned to shift + back.
NEX WEAPON/PREVIOUS WEAPON = This is a double command. Hit RB to go to next weapon, hold RB down and it will go to previous weapon.
HOLSTER WEAPON = Click left thumbstick
PAUSE MENU = Start
MAp = Back

For some of you who's wondering how to enable gamepad for use with ME2 on a PC
*Tested on Logitech wireless rumblepad 2
*32bit/64 bit Windows 7, Vista, XP
*This is a workaround and not a fix
-Make sure you download the latest drivers from logitech for your gamepad
-Install the drivers (with administrative rights and you may have to restart your PC)
-Calibrate and customize your profile. You can find the key bindings (controls) in ME2 or the web
-Install ME2
-Start ME2 Launcher and customize your settings (ie Video, Import game saves..etc)
-Once you have customized your your game, launch ME2
-Write down or get a screenshot of the control configurations and you can use this to program your gamepad
-Once you have programmed your gamepad profile, quite/exit ME2
**ITS IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU CUSTOMIZE YOUR GAME AS THE WORKAROUND WILL BYPASS THE LAUNCHER!!**
-On your Desktop, goto "START"
-Select "COMPUTER"
-Navigate to this path C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Mass Effect 2\\Binaries"
**FOR 32bit users: C:\\Program Files\\Mass Effect 2\\Binaries
-Look for the mass effect 2 executable (MassEffect2.exe)
-Open the "Logitech" profiler and on the menu select "EDIT" then "PROPERTIES"
-Click on the BROWSE button and browse to the mass effect 2 executable and select "OPEN"
-Then, Give your Profile a name and select the ME2 icon on the bottom and select "OK"
-Back on the logitech profiler, select "PLAY MASS EFFECT" or whatever you named your game profile
*THATS IT, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PROGRAMMED YOUR GAMEPAD WITH THE KEY BINDINGS IN THE GAME
-Once you launch the game, it will skip the launcher screen and go to the intro
-On the main menu of the game, test your gamepad by moving the joysticks around.
**THIS HAS BEEN TESTED TO WORK ON WIN7, VISTA, XP WITH THE LOGITECH WIRELESS RUMBLEPAD 2
**IT SHOULD WORK ON THE USB WIRED VERSION AS WELL, IF NOT UPDATE YOUR DRIVERS.
