If you let the Rachnii queen on Noveria live and imported your ME1 character then you get a nice surprise on Illium about the queen; but after that encounter and hearing news about the Rachnii ships on Galactic News Terminals I started to look forward to visiting a planet with the Rachnii on it, thriving and builing kool looking organic ships and such.........but alas no such thing!

wondering if enough people ask maybe bioware might throw in such an encounter as a DLC :)

it'd be nice... but i doubt it..... dlc that only (theoretically) half of their players could use?

If you saved the Rachni queen in ME1, you get a message from her via an Asari on Illum.

Mass Effect 2's side-quest storyline leads us to believe everybody will unite under a single banner to counter the reapers, the message given by the queen adds that she'll fight the ones who made her ancestors fight the Rachni Wars. Leading us to believe that Shepard will have a Rachni Army in Mass Effect 3.

It's not likely for us to see anything come from it until ME3 - if you think about it, what would the mission be? Yes, there would be Rachni, but it's not like we'd be fighting them or anything. I think it's safe to say the Rachni will be a major player in ME3 against the Reapers.

Plus, with the Collector's, I can imagine a lot of people getting sick of all those bugs in one game very quickly.

Puts me in mind of how you rallied the armies in DA:O. Pretty neat if that's how it will turn out.

This is probably ME 3 stuff. They are setting up the final confrontation!

Yeah, I heard late 2011 or early 2012.  So basically like ME 1 or ME 2's release.  November of 2011 or January of 2012, those are months that Bioware seems to like.  Sigh...Over 500 days to go...

I did hear that they want to get ME 3 done quickly, but I wouldn't put stock on anything less than a year and half unless they have been working on it for some time secretly.

yeah but if you killed the Rachnii queen then no army, zip! so like "wsmb0233" said only those that saved the queen would benefit from this, doubt bioware is gonna script an entire scenario that hinges on one decision made in ME1, but then again the creators do keep saying that the decisions made from the first two will effect the last game.....haha hence MASS EFFECT!

I think the rachni will be back in ME3, whether you saved them or not. Probably some rachni secretly survived if you let them die in ME1. If you saved them, then they'll be back. It'll be so cool if they get to be part of your squad. Imagine that!

I can just see it now. A fleet of thousands, Rachni, Krogan, Geth etc. making one gaint push. It'll be like the citadel attack times a thousand.

Or maybe a last minute save by the Rachni, when all seems lost, they appear.

I think that the occasional side mission included a form of the Rachnii, who's name I forget, but you see them in Mordin's misson and fight waves of them in Grunt's rite. Anyways, seeing as these are a possible variation of the Rachnii, being born without needing a queen to control them, we could see a random enemy of the Rachnii. So, ME3 could have a mixture of enemies and allies among the Rachnii, like the Geth were in ME2. I always thought that the mention by the queens messenger and finding the random drone were good enough mentioning for the second game, but if these drones aren't Rachnii, then yes, the second game seems to loose their thread.
