So, about that last decision when you get to the center of the collector base and the Illusive man tries to persuade you into not blowing it up, I'm curious what choice different people made and why?  Looking at it objectively, I can see pro's and con's to both options (much like most of the major decisions in this series so far).  So again, I'm just curious to see what other people chose to do, and why they did it.

I've only done a full playthrough once so far, and since I was playing a pretty dedicated paragon I chose to blow it up, didn't like the idea of Cerberus having control over something like that, not even to use against the Reapers.  But, again, I don't know.  So, what did you guys do, and why?

I did a full paragon run for my first time through, destroyed the station, and had my whole team survive. Then I reloaded before the last fight and chose to save the station. That decision possibly has huge ramifications for the next game, and as such I want all of my characters, whether renegade or paragon, to have a save file of each possibility.

There was no was I was going to compromise Shepard's integrity by giving it over to the Illusive Man and the Illusive Man was freaking crazy to think that Shepard would do so. Instead, I stole one of his highest ranking officers and the Normandy+crew. Take that, Cerberus.

I did the same thing.  Outside of romances and a few quest choices, and of course your ME 1 choices, the station question will probably be HUGE!

PS: I just looked at my saved folder and it looks like there is only ONE unique save per character, the chaptersave.  That makes me think it only saves one final save per character, overwriting the others.

Yeah, kind of stinks.  So only one final save per character, unless, like I said, you fool around with renaming and replaying the game.  That might get dangerous, so I'd back everything up beforehand.

My Shepard follows no ones orders but his own. Screw Illusive Man. I blew that station to pieces without a second thought. Considering Cerberus's common misuse of power and the reaper indoctrination that can't end well. I've stopped the reapers twice and i'm ready to do it again

I blew it up. Saren originally began by trying to use a Reaper to combat the Reapers, so what the hell would happen if we tried to use what is essentially a Reaper base to combat the Reapers?

No way in hell would I leave all those innocent people unavenged, the entire base was a travesty that needed to die.

In the first game, they said that the Reapers were too far away to use their indoctrination on people. However, Harbinger could control the Collector leader. That means there's something on that base that allows for the Reapers to indoctrinate people. If you preserve the base then the Reapers will just indoctrinate the people sent there to study it.

i blew the station up because we simply arent ready to research the technology. look at the IFF chip, it sent out a distress beacon that the collectors found, when by the derelict ship EDI was temporarily hacked, now that we have a large station you think we can even research anything inside that may have safety protocols? plus there was one reaper inside, who knows what else.

I kept it. >.>

But I have two characters. One of them will destroy the station. :-)

I played a paragade. I blew up the station. Too many (especially within Cerberus) have attempted to use Reaper tech for their own gain and disaster followed. Even with the best of intentions, it's far too dangerous to allow such technology to exist (and especially fall into the wrong hands). Let's not forget not fully understanding the reapers. I mean, a "dead" reaper was indoctrinating the Cerberus scientists. Obviously there are many things we don't understand about the reapers.

And also, the idea of how a reaper is made and what TIM would do to replicate such technology... *shudders* Just far too many negatives to justify something so reprehensible.

the only character I've beat it with is a avid paragon, he doesn't trust the illusive man with that at all, he blew it.

I played a maxxed out Paragon and i have to admit that the decision was the most difficult i made in the entire game. I did eventually decide to blow it up for all the reason's many of the previous posters stated. It was touch and go and second run i will for sure keep it. What i am curious to see is the comments from the crew concerning keeping it intact.

not gonna lie, I was thinking about keeping it, but tali told me I should blow it up. the choice was trust the illusive man and his attempt to save the galaxy, or to listen to those set of hips.

man that was a freaking awsome explosion.....
