Anyone know the big difference between kiling the heretics or rewriting them?

will most likely have large consequences in ME3 within the confines of ME2 it makes no difference at all.

Probably gonna come into play in ME3, especially if the Quarians go to war with the Geth. Or if you try to recruit a Geth army/fleet for the battle with the Reapers.

from what i understand there are millions of geth beyond the veil that wont come out and do not wish to have a war with anyone other then the quarians. But the ones that are out of the veil are the heretics and if you rewrite them you may be able to get them to fight along side you against the reapers. I may be wrong though.

It's possible to do this mission and still save your entire crew after they're kidnapped right? Like if this is the only mission I do then go after them immediately i'll be able to save them?

Hmm... well appreciate the thoughts. Id like to think that by saving them they will end up helping me out in the future. Good thing I saved.

Interesting parallel to the Reapers' Indoctrination, if not one that they developed much. Maybe it'll come up in ME3.

To be honest I think rewriting will backfire big time.
Even Legion said he doesn't know why some geth became different and chose the heretics so that virus was just a temporary hold back to a major fall.
If they diverted from each other without any specific reason, the virus is not going to do anything, it'll just happen again.
That's my opinion anyway.
I'm a paragon player but that option I always choose to destroy.

The Illusive Man summary for the mission, if you blew up the Heretics, says that their destruction may change the entire galactic landscape.
