Tactics are exclusively for when you're not controlling a character. This also means when you've selected multiple characters, it won't work for any of them.

Tactics are for units which you are not directly controlling.

From what I understand, tactics only work when you are not selecting said character. So yes they work, but only when you do not have the character selected.

if your controlling the character your the one in charge of every action they take. so you have to micro manage your controlled character at all times. the tactics only apply to the members who are not being controled by you at that time.

I still believe they should allow an auto weapon switch. I am a Bowman and when and enemy comes close I hate to have to constantly go and manually change weapon sets.
