I'm trying to do an N7 Mission which involves saving a Quarian's life. The objective is to survive wave after wave of Vamen (Feral Dogs?). The Quarian will die after three bites, there are explosives but do nothing and most of the time the dogs don't bother to go near them so you can blow them up. I have been trying to do this mission for six hours now with no luck and I've tried combination after combination in order to complete this mission with no avale.

My problem though lies in the fact that I didn't save on the Normandy before doing this mission, so now I'm stuck and have to do the mission. I could lower the difficulty but I would rather have my Insanity achievement. My Shepard is a level 26 Adept. You would think that with all the crowd control an Adept has it would make a difference but it doesn't.

Lesson to be learned? Always save on he Normandy before doing an N7 Mission on Insanity!

If anyone has done this N7 mission on Insanity my hat is off to you and also would like to know what you did in order to complete this mission. So far my tatic is this,

Take Subject Zero and Grunt and place them exactly infront of the Quarian, that way the Vamen are forced to go threw them, Subject Zero can use Shockwave and Grunt uses Concussive Blast. While they are fighting them the Vamen waves double and two to three will go after you, at this point, at least for my Shepard I ether can try and run threw them and use Singularity so the Vamen don't bite the Quarian or I can use Heavy Barrier and take down the Vamen attacking me. At this point though Grunt and Zero are overwhelmed and when one of them dies the Vamen simply kill the Quarian and by that time I'm almost about to bite the dust and die or the Quarian dies.

There are three rocks you can hide behind, a large one next to the Quarian on to the left, a center one and one to the right.  This is awesome but for the fact that Vamen have a tendency to bite your crouch off and unfortunaely don't use ranged weapons because they don't have thumbs the rocks are pointless.

So now I am stuck

First and last bump in hopes that someone has beaten this on Insanity.

I learned this lesson well when I first started the game and went on the world with three mechs smashing up the crates. God I got murdered.

Dear lord. I'll take this into consideration.

Would you mind outlining your Adept's build? Do you have heavy warp? Wide singularity? Heavy shockwave?

We'd appreciate your input over at:

Since we are lacking for Adepts on Insanity mode at the moment.

Yeah. The one n7 mission with waves of mechs that just keep coming and you have to escape to the shuttle...it took me about an hour. I'm a soldier and i kept using up all my ammo and died trying to get more lol. I eventually just decided to use my team as bait and just ran for it lol. That finally worked.

It's funny before I realized what the shuttle computer was stating I couldn't see infront of me and I ran. At the end I used Singularity on the Heavy Mech and Grunt charged him, when he did I put up Barrier and told Zaeed to stay at one of the mech spawn points and I ran as well, after three hours of shooting endless mechs lol...
