Ok so if i understand this correctly the collectors were prothens that were turned into slaves for the sole purpose of kill shepard and building another reaper? They have not been gone all these years they just been behind the omega 4 relay? and at the end of the game when you destroy the base are all the collectors gone forever?
And the geth are no longer working for the reapers why?
And are the reapers coming regardless if someone can open a mass relay for them? Or are they going to need another race to help them. thanks

The Collectors are likely to be a contingency plan for the Reapers. If something takes out whichever Reaper was waiting for the right moment (Soverign), then the Collectors do what they did. I would assume that the race is replaced every couple of extinctions.

The Collectors are Protheans turned into tools because "aww ****, we couldn't make a Reaper out of these guys, might as well use them for something else." And they haven't been exclusively behind the relay, they've been taking samples of various races the whole time - presumably to monitor their development and potential viability for use in the creation of more Reapers.
The Geth heretics were still working for the reapers, although if you give them a virus it is supposed to spread to all of them as they reconnect and so in theory there will be no Reaper-worshiping Geth by ME3. If all goes as expected. But the Geth failed to open the Citadel relay, so the Reapers are taking a different approach using other tools. Since Shepard managed to actually orchestrate a successful attempt to interfere with the cyclical harvest, they're also very interested in "reaping" the humans in particular, and the Collectors can be assumed to be more useful for purposes of collecting material to make the next Reaper.
