Yes, Kaidan was nice, like chamomile tea or an oatmeal cookie. Garrus has a great personality. But I have never felt so taken by a character. BioWare cannot have gone through all this trouble of making the perfect assasin, specifically designed for the female fans, just to snatch him away after we fall for him!

Um, honey, there is Thane romance if you hadn't noticed.

And it will likely continue just like every other character's romance.

I don't think it'll take 12 months for the reapers to come, so don't worry.

I know there is Thane romance in ME2, and quite enjoyable, too. I just want it to be an option for ME3 as well. Someone said we shouldn't get too attached to our ME2 LI's, too late for me.

I have to imagine he will be around in ME3...and if they continue the loyalty/personal quest thing they've got going in ME2, I'm sure his will involve getting a cure.

Haha at people who think these romances will carry over. Just look at the ME1 love interests.

At best you'll see Thane in an office and he'll say, "Ohai!" and ask you to do a sidequest that goes nowhere. Or he'll be dead. (and this is ignoring the fact that all of these people are potentially dead, and thus likely doomed to have cameos at best)

I really hope he does come back and for more than a cameo appearance, he is such a cool character and should be cured!

The story so far has only gotten darker and more personal. Cleaning the slate of most previous characters (again), specially LI's, would not help with the game immersion in ME3. Counterproduct

If they barely did anything for the Mass Effect love intreset then they sure as hell won't do anything for the Mass Effect 2 love intreset... alright fine maybe they will when you have to find more food for the new cook in Normandy 3.5 in Mass Effect 3's expansion and the cook ask you to go to Citadel-Mart, maybe just maybe you'll bump into them at the checkout line.

That's what I said about the ME1 squad.  Here's hoping BW doesn't pull the same thing with ME3. *sigh* I'm personally hoping for an amalgation of the ME1 and ME2 squad plus, perhaps, a few new squad members (and within reason -- some already have established reasons for not being available, so I'll roll with that now that it's canon).

Oh, my sincere apologies.
Don't rely on what someone said. I'm sure you'll be able to continue it.

How can Thane be in ME3? He dies during the suicide mission. Image IPB Image IPB

But maybe, if for some odd reason Thuna survives, you'll get an email from him in ME3.

They must be gearing for that. Please tell me they would not insult our intelligence with something as trite as "they moved on" again. It cannot be as simplistic as that!

Yes please! Thane is a beautifully written character with such an elegant, appealing visual design. It would be a tragedy to not put it to more use! Thane's romance so far seems like the only new ME 2 female romance to evoke love feelings between the characters.

I want his story to have a happy conclusion. I want him to be cured and not die tragically off-screen or in an epilogue. That would be a waste of a wonderful character!

You didn't read posts by BioWare? They specifically said (I'm sorry, citation needed, I can't figure out where I read it, prolly bioware forums) that ME1 LI's wouldn't be available as team mates in ME2 *specifically to keep them alive for ME3*. Because *all* ME2 team mates have such high probability of dying, they kept the ME1 LI's out of ME2 so the relationship could continue in ME3.

Not really, he might have just died for you.

He's an aweosme character one way or another. I just wish they developed him more.
His voice is almost as epic as Sovereigns.

I did read those BioWare posts. I don't think that specifically implies that LI's from ME2 will be disposable. Perhaps I am an optimist, but considering how much more time they spent developing these characters and relationships, perhaps I am not.

You have been dead for 2 years. Your ME1 LI has moved on with their lives. They never say so, but it is entirely possible they already met someone new. I know I got that kind of vibe from Liara and her assistant(well, at least until Shepard helped Liara discover her assistant was the enemy). Plus, if we've learned anything from the ME1 to ME2 transition is that Bioware really did listen to the community in implementing things we wanted and removing things we complained about. Since everyone is complaining about the diminished roles of the ME1 LI, they will fix that in ME3 and won't make the same mistake with the new LI. Mass Effect 3 is the climax. The conclusion. I have complete confidence in Bioware that they will not disappoint.

They also said that the romances were far more compelling in ME2, seems like a waste if they aren't going to go a little further in ME3 (it would also be nice if they could be recruitable perhaps even depending on who your LI in ME2 was). I know that the characters in the first game are supposed to play a huge role in the third, but the people in ME2 were just so amazing I really hope we can have a longer reunion in the third game.
