So does anyone know if there's any way to get a discount at the weapons retailer on illium? It's called something like Gateway something or other, it's right beside the illium gift shop with the fish. Whenever I talk to the merchant, she just mutters something about surveillance and to not try anything funny. And her stuff is so friggin expensive!

Yeah there is, past that there is a Krogan singing to an Asari. If your Paragon is high enough convince her to marry the Krogan and have kids. Once done you get a discount on those shops.

You have to do the conrad verner quest. He's in the bar. He tells you an undercover cop told him bar is selling red sand.
You then go to merchant, who claims to be a cop. Charm or intimidate her into stop trying to trick conrad, and she'll give you a discount while you're at it.
