I just bought Mass Effect 2 tonight, and after several tries of my installation failing,  I tried the advance user fix in the sticky and couldn't get my english.rar file to not be so corrupt so I couldn't install that way.  I saw a post about registering with EA and then getting the digital download.

The problem is, no one accepts my CD key on my manual.  The EA website and EA Download Manager all say it's an invalid code, I even tried Steam even though I didn't purchase it from there.  I had a friend check my code to make sure I wasnt going crazy or overlooking something and the cd I have I'm entering in correctl.  Although when I finally found my way to this site, I logged in with my EA account, verified and switched to my BioWare and registering it here is first time my cd key has been accepted!  But I can't find a download option here to get the game, so what gives?

Does the download version work without problems?  Do I need to contact someone to fix my cd key or just return it to where I bought it  and exchange for a working key?  I've never in all my years had a game that had a bad cd key AND wouldnt install at the same time, so I have no idea how it works and just need a friendly point in the right direction.  Thanks

Just installed ME2. Initial menu would come up. Checked configuration successfully. Pressed "Play" and then the game never started -- ME2 was "not responding". Couldn't reboot because of ROXIO DLA was accessing my DVD drive. Don't know why, but saw a related process and killed it so I could reboot. Rebooted ... now when I start I see "Failed to authenticate the disc. Please insert the correct disk and try again." Well -- I tried both discs to no avail. I bought the game from Gamestop. Standard edition. Checked product key reported by the configuration utility against that printed on the back of the manual. It was correct. Very disappointing. Looking forward to a solution from Bioware on the forum or somewhere. It's clear there are many problems.
