Suicide mission losses...

I had Mordin go through the vents because I remembered him talking about his time in the Special Task Group, but he was hit in the head as the doors closed.
I also had Tali lead the distraction squads both times because I remembered her leading the quarian marines in previous missions. The second time, she died from being shot. She was my LI in the game, and I felt really upset when she died. It gave the rest of the mission a really depressing feel for me.
Did anyone else have an experience in the suicide mission where your LI died or you just felt a horrible sense of lose after a character died?

NOBODY.
The entire mission felt wasted on me, it felt anti-climatic.

So on my Suicide mission, I had the ship fully upgraded and had all of the characters loyalties.

Yea in my first playthrough Garrus and Zaeed died and I liked them both. So I just loaded up before the Omega-4 relay and suprisingly I made it through without causlities(sp?).

Jack was the only one who died @ the end
Some part of me wishes you could choose who dies. I hate Jack.

Interesting. So a character can die, even if s/he was a love interest? I didn't know that. I think I may deliberately create some tragedy for my Miranda romancing Infiltrator... Poor guy already Virmired Ash in the name of duty, tho he loved her. Wonder if he'll have the heart to try romancing any of the new ME3 ladies, once we get that far...

I think you can, at least to an extent, if you know the mechanics behind the surviving/dying thing.

Send her to do something she's not good at doing and she'll die.

Once you learn the mechanics, the ability to kill some people off offers nice RPG opportunities. The same as Wrex and Ash/Kaidan choices on Virmire.

Funny you talk about Miranda. She was my love interest in the game. So for all parts of the suicide I kept her by my side -- subconsciously protecting her I suppose. And ironically, Miranda was my love interest and Garrus was the first crew member I added to my crew -- both Miranda and Garrus were with me on the final stage and helped me kill the human reaper. No one died either -- family/teamwork/trust I suppose.
Legion and Jack died when defending the gate for me at the end, and Zaeed got shot in the stomach when commanding his own crew.

I felt really bad in the scene with shepard touching Legion's coffin. Only had him for the final play through and didn't know squat about him but I still felt bad.
