Without killing off my crew. I'm rather pissed that I am unable to visit Tuchanka (which I've yet to even land on) nor finish the loyalty quests for 3 of my squad members, all because I wanted to pick up Legion early on in order to get the feel for his character. There was no warning that I'd be forced to make this choice, and nothing ever said I was on a time limit. Now, it's either "beat the game now" or "lose my whole crew." Not a very good set of choices.

Well the game states you will have to make hard choices. Its not the games fault that you lost people, that's your fault. You can always play through again, or save some missions for legion after you beat the game (you can keep playing after).

Wow. You know you can still do things after your crew get's abducted. Just tell EDI your not going after the crew yet...

Stop being such a little ******. "zomg! never plaything this game again!"

Btw there is a pretty big discussion when the IFF mission becomes available, there's a reason the game tells you things like HEY MAYBE WE SHOULD WAIT TO BUILD OUR TEAM BEFORE GETTING THE IFF. "NAH IT'LL BE OKAY DON'T WORRY LOL"

From what I understand, if I do anything else, I'll go around with a ghost ship with no crew. I'm pissed because I'm forced into the situation with no warning. And no, "there will be hard choices" is not a warning. I don't play a game just so I can feel a sense of loss. That's the exact opposite of what I play a game for.

Oh, and stop the personal attacks.

Don't ignore major plot conversations then.

"Build your team before going" doesn't mean "Btw, everyone's gonna die and you won't be able to do anything else and still save them".

Would you rather have everything spoon fed to you?

Okay, I see you have dragon age registered. You should know by now EVERY bioware game ever made has a "point of no return" spot in the story. The conversation makes it blatantly obvious that the IFF mission is such a point. The game is the way it is. You can now either go save your crew so your ship doesn't feel empty or go do your side quests. Trust me there isn't much to do in the game after the loyalty missions so you won't be missing out on much.

Sorry, I wasn't aware I was asking to be spoon fed. I thought I was asking to not be forced into situations I can't escape from just because I didn't meta and look up a walkthrough. My bad.

And no, the conversation didn't make it blatantly obvious -this- would happen. The IFF virus thing was quite random.

You don't lose your squadmates if you don't use the Omega 4 relay right away...you just sacrifice your crew. So, feel free to do those side quests and such. First time I beat it, I had no idea there was a time limit there and I screwed around the galaxy scanning planets. My squad all survived...my crew died. Aside from Dr. Chakwas.

As a matter of fact I'm about to do a playthrough where I get legion ASAP and just say "to hell with the crew" because i want to see how he acts on all the side missions.

So Chakwas lives no matter what? Hmm... Maybe I'll just do the sidemissions, then when I do a 2nd playthrough I'll save the IFF for last.

And it was obvious. Everything they said was like "We should probably build up the team before going for that IFF!." Which you ignored. Just for the record I think it's a stupid mechanic as well, but I doubt anything is going to change about it.

What would be great is a patch that makes it so you get to pick when to install the IFF so this junk can be avoided.

I also remember specifically saying "we should wait until we know it's safe" with regards to the IFF. Then suddenly it's connected to the ship and transmitting. Kai.

The PITA is how awesome Legion is - and that getting him triggers the crew abduction shortly after.

Exactly. Sucks that I can't use Legion for more than a couple missions without causing all this crap. And he's such an awesome character.

I went for Legion ASAP as I wanted to actually be able to use him for more than a single mission. He's damn awesome by the way. Make sure to bring him to the Flotilla and to talk to the c-sec customs officer on the citadel about security with Legion in tow.

Yes, Chakwas always survives. The rest of my crew that I never talked to got meltigoo'd, but thems the breaks, I liked Legion so having some quality shooting time with him was worth more tham their lives. I would have been a bit miffed if the good doctor had died though. Fortunately it was just all the new redshirts they added.

Use him for missions after you beat the game. Not new game + but literaly play after the game ends if you and legion live.

I just thought about it and I realized I don't care about any of the crew that gets gooed anyway. Hooray for legion.

If you go around doing a bunch of sidequests in between them being abducted and going to the Omega 4 relay then the crew will die.
