Three quick questions:

Does the player HAVE to recruit every squad member (well, except Zaeed)?

Is it possible to tell a squad member to get lost (I guess not, but just in case)?

Can the player skip some recruiting missions entirely (e.g. I've completed the Purgatory Prison mission to see what it's about but I'd like to skip it since I don't want Jack in my team)?

Dont skip the missions or people, you find important unlocks on every mission that could help you survive the last mission.

You don't have to recruit everyone. On my first playthrough, I was able to go to Omega without recruiting a few people.



But now on my second playthrough, it's refusing to let me go to the collector ship. I don't know whats wrong. This game seems entirely random to me on how it's structured.

You can skip them. But the final three dossiers have the tier two weapons on them. He was suggesting that it's very important to go there.
